ErnisD: I actually never bought a bundle on steam so I have no idea how it's there. But I just hating being forced to pay for something I don't need. For example I never bought a single game that was cross-buy with ps3-ps vita. You pay once and get that game for both consoles. But I have just ps3. If that price includes that game for BOTH consoles, I wont buy it because I have to pay the same price even though I'll get it just for one console. Same here, if I pay money for all 3 games, even though I need just two, I want to be able to do whatever I want with that game I don't need. I'm ok with giving it for free to random guy, but I'm not ok with paying for it money and be forced to activate on my own account, even though I dont need it.
Shouldn't I be able to do whatever I want with a game I payed money for? But maybe that's just me.
HypersomniacLive: I assure you that if you buy a bundle of Steam and already have one of the games in the bundle, you're going to pay again for it, though it won't appear a second time in your game library. On GOG, in contrast, if you own one or more of the games, they do count towards the total discount you get, but you won't have to pay for them again.
As for the part of your reply that I highlighted - yes you can, so long as you purchase that specific game as a gift code. If you purchase a bundle, then there are the following cases:
- As I said above, if you already have one or more games of a specific bundle on GOG, then you get the better discount for the rest of the games, you're not charged a second time for the ones you already have, and consequentially don't get additional copies.
- If you don't own any of the games on GOG, then you only get the better deal if you purchase the complete bundle.
There's no digital store I'm aware of that counts games you have bought on other stores.
In the case of the Deponia Trilogy bundle, you have three options:
(1) Either purchase only the two games you're interested in.
(2) Buy the complete bundle, and ask GOG Support to give you a gift code for the one you don't want to keep. In order to submit such a request, you must not attempt to download any of the game's content (installer or extras). Keep in mind though, that there's no guarantee that GOG Support will actually do this.
(3) Ask someone in the
GOG's (General) Trading Thread that has the complete bundle to get the two games you want and trade them for games of equal value you'll purchase for them.
Why you talking about steam? I don't give a fuck about steam, I don't care what platform does this shit, if it does it - i dont buy that game. Thats it. If you go to shop, one bottle of beer cost 2$, but if you buy 4 bottles, then one bottle cost 1.5$. But I dont want 4, 3 is enough. I get it that if I want a discount, I need to buy 4 bottles, I can buy it, and give one bottle that I don't need to my friend. Because I payed money for it, and I can use it however I want. Now I want to buy deponia trilogy, 2 for myself 1 for someone, but gog doesnt let me to do it. Do you think it's ok? I payed money for it, I should be able to do whatever I want with a product I payed money for.
So it was possible to do? Dammit. I already spent my money on other games :/
