You do have a BD drive in your PC, don't you?

I ask especially, because this guy already asked you that, but you ignored his question.

stg83: Did you try using Passkey Lite? Just follow the last couple of instructions in my original post. Some people have had success using Passkey Lite concurrently with VLC player.

Kunovski: finally I've been able to try this, using vlc as a player while the passkey was running

the Sucker Punch blu-ray disc ran without problems, so I've tried the Gravity disc but received an error message...

I was pretty angry so I stopped trying for a bit, but then I realized I should at least look at the error message and read what does it say - so I inserted the disc, waited for everything to boot, started passkey, started vlc and hit play blu-ray, and it WORKED :D

I have no idea what that error was or if it will come again, but for now I'm extremely happy, so thanks!!! :)

KyleKatarn: If you get desperate enough to pay for software, many people really adore Slysoft's products.

Sometimes I wonder if these software companies that charge with all of the demand they have right now (not saying there's anything wrong with charging though) really want to see DRM go away because then they would have to find something else to do or go out of business :) And hey, if people are spending money for software just to watch or rip movies they bought, they won't have as much money to buy more movies. Seems silly to me.

Personally, I think upconverted DVDs look fine and so I settle with that now. I don't have enough room to rip all of my discs if they were all Blu-ray anyway. Sorry I can't be of more help. it sucks because Gravity is one of the movies where a Blu-ray version would be worth it.

stg83: That is awesome you welcome, I am really glad it worked out for you. I was banking on this solution to be applicable because many other people also reported that it was working. Enjoy watching the movies, Gravity in particular is an amazing film. :)

Kunovski: don't worry, I was just really surprised by this situation - as if a person who has a computer to watch movies on would have to be either crazily rich to buy movies AND a software to play them on, or a pirate...

OldFatGuy: And the same thing to an even bigger extent works for anti-virus software companies, and every time I bring that up someone inevitably makes fun of such fears.

That's ok. You watch, before it's all said and done, a company that sells anti-virus software is going to be caught being responsible for a virus. It's not a question of if, only when. Till then, those folks can make all the fun they want to because in the end it will be them that looks like fools.
