kalirion: Think of any RPG that's already been bundled, and it's a good candidate for BIAB.

So maybe Doom & Destiny, QuestRun, 3079, 3089, Aldorlea's Millennium / Dreamscape / Laxius Force, etc.
Ah! Doom & Destiny! Yes, I think that was the title I couldn't remember when writing this post, with a similar direction as yours. :D

Although, if it's true that the bundles includes Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land - which I've skipped so far - and Empires and Dungeons - of which I've never heard and which looks kind of interesting - and both of which I didn't expect - then my curiosity is aroused again.

Azrael360: I'm still waiting for "Shadows On The Vatican, Act II" from the bundle "Eclectic Delights"... :(
That's nothing, I'm still waiting for Frozenbyte's Splot, from one of the first Humble Bundles. It was never heard from again ... and in the meantime everyone seems to have developed a dislike for cartoon-y indie platformers. ;)

SirPrimalform: Over a dozen? So what, the Geneforge Saga, Avernum Saga. That's not far off 12 right there.
Maybe they will surprise us with 12 different indie rpgs we never heard of? (highly unlikely... bundlers arent highly original :/ )

Never heard of that game before... (:P)
I guess we all lose in the end.

Note to myself for future reference: Never pay extra money for a Pre-Order game in an Indie Bundle... (-_-)

I think they mean 12 newbies that we can vote on - not games they are offering...

I dunno,
the Indie RPG Bundle shall be live tomorrow on http://bundle-in-a-box.com/ featuring over a dozen RPGs!
seems pretty clear to me, but you might be right.

They are a bit disingenuous - maybe English isn't their first language?
I believe they're based in Greece (from what I remember) so you might be right. What makes you think they're talking about the grant nominees?
It's all in their press kit already:

13 brilliant DRM-free indie games (and extras) for the price of your choice; 8 as a pay-what-you-want offering (marked as PWYW below), 5 more if you beat the average price (marked as BTA below).
PWYW:
- Unemployment Quest (+Desura)
- The Siege of the Necromancer (+Desura, +Steam)
- Hack, Slash, Loot (+Desura)
- Styrateg (+Desura)
- Inaria
- Dungeon Fray (+Desura)
- Empires and Dungeons 2
- Frayed Knights: The Skull of S'makh-Daon (+Desura)

BTA:
- Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land
- The Wizard from Tarnath Tor (+Desura)
- Northmark: Hour of the Wolf
- The Wizard's Lair (+Desura)
- Telepath RPG: Servants of God

Even though it does contain Hack, Slash, Loot as predicted, and also Northmark and Styrateg, recently featured on IndieGameStand, it looks like a quite interesting bundle; a satisfying mixture of well known repeats and never heard of underdogs, JRPG, rogue-likes, CYOA game book, tactical, Ultima- and Wizardry-style RPGs etc., all games with DRM-free installers and some games like Frayed Knights and Telepath RPG are regularly sold at a pretty high price. It might be the first time, too, that The Wasted Land is featured with a DRM-free installer. I'm definitely going to get it for Frayed Knights PWYW and The Wizard from Tarnath Tor BTA. :)

Thanks for that. Wow what a varied bundle. Frayed Knights is worth getting (in fact i will). Not sure of the BTA games though...
Any idea when bundle is likely to launch?

Somewhen today (the 17th), but if you mean the hour, I have no clue.

The PWYW tier seems great, I'll be grabbing that unless the BTA is really cheap. The Wasted Land has had a DRM-free installer from the 2nd Greenlight Bundle, and Shiny Loot.

What do u think of the BTA games dude?
That's indeed a great mix of different rpg-types. There are some repeats from other sales (Indiefort, Indiegala, Indiegamestand, etc), but I guess no one has all these bundles and there is still enough other new stuff. I'm surprised that Frayed Knights isn't in the upper tier, but that's maybe because he uses the promo as advertisement for the upcoming second game. Also again when an Indiegamestand release went shortly after sale into another bundle (as example King Arthur's Gold).

No idea about the actual quality of the games (haven't played them). I already have 2 of the BTA games though (The Wasted Land and Telepath RPG). The PWYW tier looks like a way better value, kind of weird how they threw most of the games into the PWYW tier, especially Frayed Knights, which is the standout title for me.

Me, I haven't really played any of them, but The Wasted Land seems rather average and is probably recommended for fans of Lovecraft only. The Wizard's Lair has a very low rating on Desura (4.6), but voters on Desura aren't always fair. Telepath RPG, from what I've seen, is a linear dialogue-heavy tactical turn-based strategy/RPG game using Adobe Air. I haven't played it enough to judge it, but I think you can find a demo for it on the net. The most interesting BTA game IMO is The Wizard from Tarnath Tor, at least if you're interested in choose-your-own-adventure game books. Desura rating is 9.5.
