And the rage is incredably prevalent

A lot of the rage is very childish, but the disappointment is very understandable. Switching to platform exclusivity in the middle of a franchise is a bit of a kick in the teeth to fans of that franchise that may not own that particular platform. We as PC gamers know all too well about being shit on by major publishers who spontaneously decide to go console-only.

I played Bayonetta on the PS3, I enjoyed Bayonetta on the PS3, but I'll be fucked if I'm getting a Wii U just for Bayonetta 2.

I'd be very surprised if it sells to be honest. The Wii has established itself as the casual gamer's and JRPG gamer's console, and I can't imagine parents buying it for their kids or for themselves. It's very likely that the Wii U will follow this trend.

That I understand but goddamn either buy the WiiU for it or get over it spend your money somewhere else
Nintendo helped fund Bayonneta 2? That seems really odd.

Is there a legit news site with this information?

It seems not too long ago Sega announced that they cancelled Bayonetta 2 because the first game didn't sell well enough. So the only reason the sequel is being made is because Nintendo is publishing it. Sega owns the IP but AFAIK they aren't funding the game at all.

*pets DMC HD Trilogy, NGS2 and Bayonetta PS3 discs*
As long as I haven't beaten all that on max difficulty, I don't need anything new in the genre.
Hmmm... looks at calender. Nope, still September.

Maybe I'm still smirking from the gray blood in SNES Mortal Combat but this seems really out of character for Nintendo. Still, if they get a couple more exclusives like that the Wii U may be interesting after all.

Yeah, there's really nothing more irritating than a company shitting on the people who built the franchise by denying them future installments. I also hate when they radically change the genre, like say KOTOR to TOR, though that is obviously less disgusting and can lead to good games like Fallout 3.

The original game didn't sell all that great in the first place, making it exclusive to a console would only make that situation worse one would think. Especially since it is a Nintendo console, which appeals to modern "core" gamers as much as Farmville does.

Well since it did not sell very well making it exclusive to one console is no bad in this sense:

I see it as more cheaper to focus on one console then making it multiplatform which adds to the budget

This isn't the case. Sega owns the IP but they were going to sit on it like they did with Alpha Protocol because the game wasn't a multi million seller. Platinum games had no say on the matter so if it weren't for Nintendo the franchise would be dead.

According to Wikipedia "By March 31, 2010, Bayonetta sold 1.35 million units worldwide."
That number wasn't good enough for Sega but it was good enough for Nintendo to consider funding the game in hope of attracting some core gamers. You can bash them all you want but at least they are trying to gain a wider audience. Anyway, B2 isn't the only "core" game being released on the Wii U, they also got Black Ops 2, Assassin's Creed 3, Batman AC, FIFA 12, etc. I get it, you don't like Nintendo but you are being way to biased here. I prefer to give credit where credit is due.

Not sure where that comes from. I neither like nor dislike them, I am completely ambivalent. And that is the problem they always have with attracting gamers like me. An exclusive sequel to a niche seller and late ports of other shit is not going to change that.

If you didn't like that game it is obvious that you won't be interested in the sequel. Fans of the first game might consider it and they could buy more games. It is the same as if Nintendo were to approach Sega and Obsidian to offer funding Alpha Protocol 2, except that you might care in that case.

StingingVelvet: good games like Fallout 3.
Oxymoron alert, my dear Sting.
