Omikron, this time.

And the problem is... ?
Classic Square Enix stuff has been appearing on Steam. Tomb Raider, Legacy of Kain, etc. Really glad GOG go their hands on it first, though.

Nothing, just saying.

This is why GOG has been expanding it's market.

GOG has been really successful and has done great in bringing back many classics and reinvigorating interest in titles or even genre's that were becoming extinct.

GOG's popularity however has also shown developers/publishers that there is an actual market for oldies/classics sold online. And for them, there really is no reason for a game to only be on GOG. It was only a matter of time till oldies were going to spread to the other digital retailers.

This pretty much sums it up :)
Yeah Blood Omen 2 was added recently too, I know it seems like its been on there forever because they had other Soul Reaver games but Blood Omen 2's been missing until now!
Oh god, not again! How dare they! Shame on them! :P
Its probably ruder that there's old games re-released JUST on Steam and not here really - XCom, id's shooter back catalogue, Ys series, Sega's megadrive and DC ports / emulation the list goes on...
Valve its a monster and its aiming to eat everything, jut saw the announcements they make this week.

Honestly, GOG probably got their hands on it first because they were willing to get it working. If GOG hadn't released them I doubt they'd be on Steam either.
I dislike more the fanboys on discussions who act like the Steam release is the only way to get it for every classic released
Does Steam still not update meaning most don't work though or did they fix that?

That's what I suspected too, and props to GOG for that also. One of my favorite aspects of GOG is helping the "underdogs" out, usually good old games not already on dd's (even though they were popular back in the day), but I have to give props for good new indie games, too, ones not getting much attention. It shows they're not just in this for the money, and are willing to work hard to bring this games back even if the exclusivity doesn't last forever. (although I do enjoy GOG's exclusivity when they deserve it; it's hypocritical to not want these games to appear on Steam, but as a GOGfan it's cool to be able to give people the reason, "Well, afaik GOG is the only place you can buy this classic right now...")

I'm not going to view this whole thread, but Timppu, if you happen read this, I hope your blood pressure didn't rise to high when initially viewing this thread. ;)
I noticed the screenshots on Omikron's Steam page are exactly the same as the ones here on GOG, just like with the Wizardry games. And this time it even has that round icon image that GOG has been using for everything recently.

I'm pretty sure these games are fixed to work on modern PCs just like GOG's versions. There are a few titles that are not optimized for modern hardware, such as Fallout, for example. GOG's Fallout is the only version that works out of the box as it should.
