All of the prominent members of the Legion gathered around a camp fire, with the ruins of Northbrook serving as a backdrop. The Ringmaster was the latest addition to the group, having been rescued from the dungeon underneath the city by Exile and his companions.
The sparks of the fire lit the cool night air. A man in a forest green cloak rose to his feet and flipped his hood back upon his shoulders. His eyes focused down into the burning embers as the dancing orange light shone upon the scars on his cheeks.
"Gentleman, ladies," he began, "for those who haven't had the pleasure, my name is Truz and I am the current guild chief. I will be serving the Legion in an advisory capacity only. It has come to our attention that the primitives have not been driven from this world. An assault on a nearby Nog camp left behind no survivors, though from what we have been told, it looks to be their work. Further, the Ringmaster bears testimony that he was possessed by a wicked spirit."
"There can be no denying," the Ringmaster remarked, standing by Truz' side, "they are in our midst. After consultation with Truz, and with several among you whose opinions we hold in high esteem, we have reached a consensus that the time has come to move the camp."
"Right," Truz added, nodding his head, "we must relocate; our position is untenable. Now is the time to make the move. I will open up the floor for discussion. The question that I pose is this: where shall we go?"
"All present have been provided with a detailed map of our surroundings," noted the Ringmaster, "if you do not have one, please see me. Our guild chief, Truz, is well-informed about the political situations abroad, the potential hazards for travel over particular plots of land and so on and so forth. Therefore, any questions about potential destinations should be directed his way."
"If I may, just one more thing," Truz remarked, patting the Ringmaster on the shoulder, "I want you all to bear in mind the relative size of our caravan and the fact that we will have many civilians to protect on the journey. Clearly we must relocate to a safer location until we assess the situation here in Northbrook, but we should limit our travel to a reasonable distance. That said, we will open it up now, please come forth with your suggestions."
WORLD MAP
______________________________________________________________________
The local map is attached to this post. I apologize for the bland nature of it (really, it's as bland as it could be, so use your imagination.)
Words in BLUE indicate either you presence, or the presence of an allied character.
Words in GREEN indicate a very generalized description of the area.
Words in BLACK indicate the presence of neutral characters, or those who have not yet demonstrated their opinions about your party.
Words in RED indicate the presence of hostile characters or monsters.
Words in PURPLE indicate other features of the area (such as items, smaller objects, open buildings, etc.) Often you can interact with these objects while in the same square.
Each turn you may move AND take any kind of action you would like (interacting with an object, using a skill, passing an item to an ally, etc.) The amount of spaces you can move varies by turn and depends on 1) your die roll, 2) your character's general speed and other factors.
If you're going to be absent for some time, don't worry, I will use your character for you that turn and you can jump back in whenever you're ready. No need to notify me, as I will automatically finish the round if it isn't finished within 24 hours. Additionally, if 3 out of 4 characters have taken their turns within, say, 16 hours, then I may just go ahead and move the 4th so everyone else is not held up (but never before the 16 hour mark.)
You can move in any direction including diagonals.
"Close range" or "short range" is any adjacent (touching) square. "Long range" is anything within your sight, though there are penalties based on distance (and when you're in close range, close range attacks/skills will tend to be more effective.)
If you have any questions, as always, just ask!
