BuzzLightyear2: Haha, sadly no. :)

I guess what it really boils down to is this: do you believe the Bible to be true and therefore the inspired work of God, or a marvelous work of fiction?

pimpmonkey2382: A tool to keep people in line, but fiction none the less.
Right, so that why Christianity taught people not to worship the Roman Emperor, which was seen by the Romans as an act of sedition.

Ironic that a roman emperor started the first large organization of christianity.

flashpulse: Nope, the Pope serves the Devil and deceives its followers and Christians follow Yeshua. Big difference.
avatar
monkeydelarge: The Pope doesn't serve the devil(Satan). LOL You may not like the way they do things but that doesn't mean they serve the devil.
He sure does. The Pope change the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. There's one commandment broken. The Pope and Priest listen to other mens sins and believe they can save them. Only Yeshua can save you through repentance to Yeshua. Another blasphemy the Popes do. The Catholic church is described in Revelation as the harlet on the seven hills and they will be judge. The Catholic church has decorated it self as a harlet with its riches and does indeed sit on seven hills in italy. I could keep going...

itchy01ca01: This.
So true.
All the bible and religion are is control. By someone else. Who is richer than you.
So say goodbye to your independence if you believe in the Bible.
That also explain why many of the early Christians were among the rich.

The catholic church is no where mentioned in revelation, and the priests don't personally save other people. You could keep going but you're digging yourself a hole of ignorance and you keep burying yourself in it.

You got to be kidding me. I'm done with this topic. You have no knowledge of what you speak what so ever. Good bye.

EVERY christian has different opinion on what it teaches, and they can litterally point out passages that back up their views. Again, what gives you the right to judge other christians?
Of course people will always have different opinion, which is why it is important to carefully study it to understand the author's intent. The fact that the Bible can be misinterpreted does not in any way mean that there is no correct interpretation.

You can never know the authors intent, they were unknown. And you can't possibly know what they were thinking with as vaguely written as it is.

nadenitza: I seek the truth... what would i regard as weak is finding comfort in something you are not 100% sure and you can't back with evidence - be that belief of disbelief.
There are very intelligent people and both sides of the debate, so I suggest reading books by people on both sides. For Christianity, I suggest reading Mere Christianity by C. S. Lews or something by William Lane Craig. For the other side, I suggest Bart Ehrman.

Mere Christianity:

Seriously dude? I gave you good info on the Catholic church in the book of Revelation and you don't even watch it. If you do not study or try to learn, you leave yourself in ignorance.
avatar
Soyeong: The Crusades are what stopped the advance of Islam, which is what triggered them in the first place.

You're free to do that if you don't want to look at contrary evidence.
avatar
pimpmonkey2382: I wouldn't if there actually were evidence.
Again, I invite you to provide an example of how it's possible someone can form a belief without anything indicating to them that it is true.

No I dont' want a video, I want the actual passage. Or do you have none?
avatar
flashpulse: There are other things that point it to the time of Yeshua. Have you even studied the Bible, Jewish tradition, etc. or do you just not want there to be a GOD, so Christians must be wrong?
avatar
pimpmonkey2382: The shroud of turin and the bible have nothing to do with each other.
For once I think there's something on which we can agree.
