pimpmonkey2382: Yeah wasn't really the inquisition, it was the french king that put them down. The pope actually declared their innocence.
Coelocanth: The pope declared them* innocent of heresy, but they were still found to be guilty of other charges (related to the practices of initiation into the Templar order).
*It was actually de Molay that was on trial.
Interestingly, the story is that de Molay cursed the king and the pope when he was burning at the stake (If memory serves, the king decided to burn him despite the dismissal of the heresy charge), saying they would be dead within a year. One died within a month and the other within two months. Kind of a cool story, if one ignores the gruesome injustice of it.
That is why I said the King, underestimated de Molay. :) Some people, you just don't fuck with.
monkeydelarge: What both sides?
pimpmonkey2382: Crusaders and their noble prosecutors.
Soyeong: Christianity is all about our lives hear and now. The afterlife is just an afterthought.
pimpmonkey2382: Nope christianity is all about "Be good or you won't get into a happy place in the sky."
I see them all as one side. Christians. :)
pimpmonkey2382: I think you're talking out of your ass.
All catholics are christian but not all christians are catholic. Catholics are the first major organized version of christianity.
flashpulse: Wrong. Jews who believed/followed Yeshua were the first Christians. Catholics came much later and claim to be in place of GOD. No one is in place of GOD and no Pope can save you. Only Yeshua can.
