ThoRn: Poverty will always exists no matter how many babies you kill. As long as there's a rich class there has to be a poor class. Stop making up bullshit excuses to murder innocent babies.
It's not a bullshit excuse. Women that get pregnant before age 20 are substantially more likely to live the rest of their lives in poverty as well as having fewer options for improving their livelihood.

Secondly, it's not murder. A fetus is not capable of living on it's own. In most cases it's doesn't resemble a person at all. It's literally just a clump of cells, no matter what you wingnuts think.

Lastly, it's not really any of your business what women do with their bodies. Until you step up and pay the full cost of those unwanted children, you have absolutely no right to tell women that they have to slave away for years to carry a child that they probably wouldn't have had if you people weren't so opposed to birth control.

ThoRn: Rape, homosexuality, incest, all those are found in every other species on this planet including our own. Those are natural. Morality is only found in humans.
By the way, homosexuality is immoral I gather ?

Homosexuality is fun, therefore a massive sin.

Don't get me wrong, I hate abortion. I just realize that it's not my place to tell women that they have to carry these fetuses to term. Especially since I'm not paying for the costs associated with raising these children.

That's exactly my feelings. And it's usually elderly rich men that are deciding this.

Sort of?

The Abrahamic God is like Shaft to the current God's Monk. A total badass that won't cop out when there's danger all about.
Religion is but propaganda that keeps the ruse of civilization going. As for morality, it has its roots in causality and not religion. Religion is just a means of social programming.....except that some of us choose to override that programming.

I don't condone personal attacks on anyone. Debates should adhere to the tenets of logic and reason, there is no room for sentimentality.

Right on! You are not fighting at all! You completely ignored my posts, is it because they had no insults?

btw..do you believe in all gods? Because if not, you are an atheist to those gods.

pimpmonkey2382: We're not dominating your side, logic does.

ThoRn: I don't see any logic from your arguments at all. Just religion-bashing while on one hand claiming to be an atheist and on the other claiming you have morals. When I think it's been clearly established that the moral views you have come from religion.
Lol, laying it on a bit think now, aren't you? After this one statement, I doubt there will be many here who won't id you for a troll.

But you had a good run, be proud of that.

I don't think that word means what you think it means...

Atheist - no gods - e.g. most humanists, Buddhists
Monotheist - one god - e.g. Judaism, Christianity
Polytheist - many gods - e.g. Hinduism, Shintoism

So a Christian or Jew is not an "atheist" to Hindu gods, just an unbeliever.

So a monotheist rejects N gods while an atheist rejects N+1, where N is a *very* large number.

Actually, I think you are mistaken when it comes to Buddhism; which is nontheistic rather than atheistic. Siddhartha Gautama (or the Gautama Buddha) believed in deities (more precisely the devas) but Buddhism is centered around learning to free oneself from suffering and flaws rather than around a deity.

You were half right in that Buddhism isn't centered around a deity, but it was not due to a lack of belief in one. :)

Really? I don't claim to be an expert, but Buddhists even if they don't believe in personal gods, do have some belief in the supernatural do they not, like karma and such? They do believe Siddharta Gautama was a supernatural being that achieved enlightenment right?

Obviously "atheism" is quite broad, but atheists I've known don't just not believe in personal gods, they don't have belief in anything supernatural full stop. I think of myself as an atheist, but I would definitely say I disbelieve everything "supernatural", going from personal gods right to those silly daily astrology star-sign things in the newspaper.

He wasn't so much considered supernatural, but more of a sage, a teacher of enlightenment and freeing oneself from desire, ignorance and being controlled by material things. At least, that was always my personal take from what I've read.
