Soyeong: Didn't you say earlier that if they weren't theists, then they were atheists?
avatar
pimpmonkey2382: No. I said if you aren't a theist, you're perhaps a DEIST if especially if you waste your time going through church mumbo jumbo.
Deism is a subset of theism. So you're saying a lack of belief in god or gods isn't good enough for atheism any more?

No I'm saying what you just posted is obviously BS, or if I want to be a conspiracy theorist. I'd says religious nutcases pretending to be atheist. I as an atheist wouldn't bother with a "church" or spend that much time thinking about it. And no deism isn't a subset of theism because they DON'T believe any sort of man made religion it is it's own thought process.
I thought Deism was the worship of Dio.

No, it's the belief there's a god BUT NOT one of any man made religions.

But Dio is a god, wait are we talking about Ronnie James Dio or Dio Brando...both are gods in my books. :D

Is it true the founding fathers of the USA were Deist? Did they proclaim themselves as such? I heard that Thomas Jefferson went as far as introducing an altered view of Jesus where it teaches the moral teachings of Jesus, but eliminated all the divine and supernatural things surrounding him.

A god, but not a specific one.

TinyE was talking about Ronnie James Dio, may he rest in peace, I argue he has the best voice than any other singer of anyother genre, even better than Freddie Mercury.
And for another hit on pimpmonkey music television, one our christian friends will surely love. :)

May he allow his own soul to rest in slightly hellish environment with a lot of chromium-clad surfaces.

How did I know that your link wasn't gonna be about Nietzsche?

Deists believe that a creator god exists, but that he retreated after creating and has no further interaction with the created universe or the beings within. It's true that they reject revelation and religions, but they nonetheless believe in the existence of a god, which qualifies them as a theist. It is rather amusing watching you squirm though.

A number of them were.

It was. That was Bruce McCulloch on the left as Nietzsche.

Well, I wouldn't go THAT far, but I agree he was pretty damn amazing. From his stuff with Sabbath to his solo works were great.

I imagine Dio's after life would be much like the world of Brutal Legend. Maybe that's just my idea of a great after-life. :D

They would still call your religion bullshit as us atheists do.
