aww.. Just heard from GOG support. They are not going to give me my Witcher 2. Disappoint. :(

Would have been totally worth the $3.50 to have both versions proudly displayed on my shelf.

Just a tad irritated. Why offer me a product, allow me to pay for it, if they will then unable by law to supply it to me? Frustrating.

j0ekerr: What games would you consider good to unleash some very much in need of release, pent-up aggression?
Postal 2?
avatar
j0ekerr: There is little I find more frustrating than trying to find parking space in this shithole of a city.

At first I was annoyed, then frustrated, this progressed onto rage, which went on to become a murderous rage with genocidal overtones.

I have now gone beyond all that and find myself in a state of tranquil fury. This ice cold rage has been somewhat mellowed by the fact that I did finally find a good spot, but not by MUCH.

What games would you consider good to unleash some very much in need of release, pent-up aggression?
Postal. Definitely Postal.
Or maybe Painkiller, Serious Sam 3, Shadow Warrior (I hear the 2013 version is quite good) or any other kind of Old-school, mindless shooter.

When I want to get rid of agression I normally start some fighting games like Mortal Kombat or Tekken on my emulators :D Beating something up in a game can be really satisfying :D

I wait for their answer too... Bought "back to the future" for a gift just before the sale ends, got the order mail from Paypal, but still no code... :-|

moonshineshadow: That is not what I was meaning. I think he has no idea how to go on with his own story and if he continious with this slow pace he'll die before he is finished. At first he said the series will contain 8 books, ok book four got seperated into two parts, so that should make it nine books... let's see the time.
Game of Thrones - 3 years wait time - A clash of Kings - surprisingly 1 year - A Strom of Swords - 5 years - A Feast for Crows - 6 years - A Dance with Dragons - and now 3 more years and the expectation for the next book to appear is 2017...
I see what you mean. I did not know about the release dates (as I said I'm not a fan of he author or the series). I'm sure even the T.V. Series would have died out by 2017.

Yeah... thing is, there are many other great books that I can spent my time with, it is just this series was the first English language book I ever read (my mum bought it for me since I was reading german books too fast :D ) and it is just sad that a series that had in my opinion so much potential to go down the hill after the first three books. But hey, perhaps I am all wrong and in for a surprise and there will be more book releases and and awesome end in the future :D

Did you check if you can see the gift code in your account? Perhaps it is just the email that got delayed :-)

Grargar: Carmageddon 1+2.
avatar
LaPtiteBete: Hi, furious parking rabbit !... Something like Painkiller ? :D

Arinielle: Depends on the person, I suppose.. But my hubby will go for the city-builder type of games when he needs a release and still use that energy positively.

I usually alternate between Diablo-type games for mindless fun that doesn't require thinking too much...just getting that aggression out as quick as possible.

Other times, I'll look to games that allow for more peaceful wandering around and gathering stuff, then building when I feel like it without anyone trying to tell me what I should be doing. This style is more new to me since I started playing Trove so I don't know what other games like it there are yet.

Thank you for the suggestions folks. I'm afraid that Grargrar's and LaPtiteBete's are more my speed than Arinielle's. Right now, I feel more like destroying things than building them, but thanks anyway.

Right now, I wish I had Postal 2, I let it slip in past sales. I do have Painkiller, so I will download and install it, and I'll keep an eye out for carmageddon when, or if it appears.

Right now, I very much miss The Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. It was an awesome game which featured an amazing amount (for the time) of destructible environment. Unfortunately, my original xbox is kinda dead and the game will forever remain a console one with no PC port. The prototype games are spiritual successors but they lack the massive presence and charisma of Marvel's jade-skinned angry titan.

I know, and I agree. Which makes it a pity that I suck so badly at fighting games.

Well maybe not so much at the original Mortal Kombat. Spam jumping high kick -> beat game. No, that's still sucking.

I play Reus, where you can destroy settlements using earthquakes or by sinking them into oceans or covering them with muck.
Not a problem. :) We all have our own likes and dislikes. I didn't know what else to suggest so just told what I usually do and the hubby since we have a bit different ways of handling some feelings.

Mine are more geared towards handling constant depression and anxiety more than everyday annoyances or similar. I was suggested by the Psychiatric nurses ( have two since one knows better English than the other but doesn't work as many hours as she does ) to find more positive outlets so I added a different style of play than what I've been having. I'm also more focused on not being at the computer all the time if I can help it...to find something more physical to keep myself busy with right now.

I can assure you, it totally was. It was also a rarity back in its day in that it was a sandbox game that actually gave you an actually good story to follow, and didn't just throw you out there.

Also it managed to convey with notable success every bit of the power of HULK SMASH!

Did you try the almighty account refresh that has helped for various strange problems?

Thanks to Carrion's and all the rest of the trackers, I've confirmed that both Carmaggedon and Postal are not part of this flash sale.

A pity. Maybe at New Year's?
