Well Indie games have an arguably greater need to make a quick buck and earn a greater profit margin than AAA titles which are backed by huge bussiness conglomerates (I say arguably because we've all heard of game studios being dissolved because a given game had failed to become profitable by the third yearly fiscal quarter and the bean counters at the giant conglomerate coff-EA-coff sentenced it to die). It's their livelihood after all.

That said, I consider the prices of things like Banished and The Last Federation to be quite adequate, if not ridiculously cheap. We're just spoiled by the 1, 2 and 3 bucks price tags which make the games going for 6 or 10 bucks seem expensive by comparison. In fact, they are not, they are reasonably cheap, just not outrageously so.

The only reason I didn't get TLF is because I already have a huge backlog of games I never play and I know it would just sit there collecting virtual dust. If I pay a reasonable price for a game I am going to play it reasonably, damnit. It's things like pixeljunk shooter which I can buy and not feel guilty about not playing.

I personally find Freyja & Eir completely charming, but my daughter, who is currently pounding the stuffing out of some or other foe on ArcheAge, may not be of such sensitive persuasion. Children, what can you do, hm, what?

It feels ironic that I learned all my knowledge of the Norse invasion of England thanks to a japanese manga.

It's also surprisignly accurate historically. Most of the dates and important events reflect what actually happened, although always made more awesome by the needs of the plot and medium. Just not to the ridiculous levels of 300.

The only historically accurate part of 300 was that there actually was a battle there.

A friend of mine has a daughter who names everything after a character from Disney, especially the more recent princess movies like Frozen.

I was basing my statement on the reviews I've read for certain items that have a run time, start to finish, of under 10 hours, but still have a 30 dollar price tag attached. I try to get the very best cost/entertainment ratio I can. I don't mind paying more for an independent item that's on sale, the overall GOG environment just skews things a bit.
And of course, once you're a full-on sales fiend that digs and scavenges for every last 1.19/1.25/1.50 title possible, shelling out more at all starts getting harder and harder.

There's nothing wrong with that. The manga is probably more accurate than a lot of the current Viking themed T.V. Shows anyway.

Well I did say I was a mix of Anglo-Saxon and Viking, and the Anglo-Saxons were just as fierce in battle as the Vikings. But as it is nearly winter and I don't want you catching a cold, you can have your armour and weapons back. I was going to keep the wallet, but with such a dull sale going on, I think all your credit cards will expire before I try to use them, so you can have that back as well. :-)

Btw, I just dug up the Viking quiz and it seems I'm 70% Viking-interesting... But then maybe that's because of my historical knowledge- I knew for example that the Norman duke William the Conqueror was indeed the direct descendant by male lineage of the Norse chief of a band of Vikings called Rollo. This band of Vikings ended up in Northern France and the Frank King agreed to let them have some land they had conquered anyways (that is he recognised this conquest) but with the condition they would become Christian. And so they did... See, historical knowledge helps with test results...
