Alterego1972: It seems Alan Wake's American Nightmare could be the next freebie
avatar
LynetteC: Another gift code for the collection. I wonder where Banished and the Outlast DLC are going to fit in, given that this is the last promised freebie for the 'Adrenalin Rush'.
The last day perhaps. Going out with a bang?
They're going to leave Alan there until 9:00am EST to build up massive anticipation. :)
avatar
Maxvorstadt: Maybe Allan Wake is just a bait, and the real freebee is a totally other game!
theirs another tread going here and some of them have figured out how to tell....its the last one cause the other 3 have the same signs, it has a 'hotlink' in it, you can click on it, the others you can't in the coming soon part, even tho it gives you an error if ya do

skeletonbow: They're going to leave Alan there until 12:00 PM PST to build up massive anticipation. :)
What if it appears when I go to sleep and I miss out on the freebie? I can't risk a chance like that.
actually they're going to wait till near the end and then shock everyone by making it yet another game, and watching the uproar when all the alan wake sayers get proven wrong :) wouldn't put em past it :)

Turn up the volume and set for 3 hours in the future.
Oh crap! FFS! Now I see "Summoner" on the games list and clicked on it and it looks good and it's only $1.49. Shit I though I already exhausted all of the games that might tempt me!

I don't understand why there is no variation in the discounted games. I mean, I bought the games I wanted a long time ago. I have no motivation to come back now, yo know.... I think they made a bad decision. They could at least swap some of the games from time to time.
Alan wake keeps not moving how come?

All the other games seem to be moving around it while it stays in place

They have 700 out of 755 total games in the catalogue on sale for 50% off by default, 228 or so games coming up in flash sales for discounts anywhere from 60-90% in rotation, roughly 1/3 of the entire catalogue, plus they've given 4 free games away so far and another on the way. Plus 8 special video trivia contests to win more free games.

Seriously... that is not enough? Pretty awesome deal if you ask me. Blows away the Steam sale IMHO and any of the other big retailer's sales I've closely watched. I got about 42 games from GOG so far, and about 6 from Steam total (spread across different retailers). 5 freebies from GOG, 3 or 4 freebies gifted to me by generous people out of the blue, 3 or 4 games won unexpectedly in a few GOG forum giveaways....

Call me crazy, but this is the best sale GOG has ever done that I've experienced since joining the site, and better than any sale I experienced at any other retailer, has the best active community above any other gaming retailer IMHO, the most generous community members, and they give away more free games and other special things too in my experience (both GOG and the community).

Personally I think when people complain about it, it is a total sign that they are doing an awesome job because I subscribe to the concept that if you're interacting with the general public and /nobody/ is complaining about something, then you're not reaching enough people for them to care about what you're doing. Bickering and complaining is a sign of success. :)

Complain away folks, and we can all sit back and watch the GOG empire grow to Galaxy sized proportions and achieve much success. ;)
I bought 9 games myself this sale time.....and I think its funny how their trolling us for the last freebie...

Hey, I am not saying the deals are not great! They are amazing! The problem is, after several days you can pretty much get everything you need. If you are a GOGer, that's all right, you can still have a great time with the community, like you have. But for the clientele that GOG wants to attract, it is pretty much it... After they see they got everything they need, they will go back to track offers on Steam. You know what I mean? Or even the "team game" event, even though it looks seriously rigged.

Edit: Ok, I did not explain it well. If there is no variation, if there is no fresh air, people go to look for freshness elsewhere. ;)

I'm hoping for Teslagrad to roll back around again. I missed it on the first day.

As much as I like GOG I feel the same. Although I feel it's repetitive but it is more fun than steam sale though. Very lame this year.
Oh crap, not only does Summoner have half a hook in me, but now Sanitarium does too. Geeze. I need a new RPG or ARPG like I need a hole in the head too. :)
