theslitherydeee: So does Street Fighter burn a hole through your soul?
While Street Fighter is decent, it really lacks an appropriate high level technical aspect. It is a little more about getting those paper/scissor/rock (jump/unblockable/ground or oki) hits off. If you watch the finals tourney matches from this last year most of the SF matches are poking and zoning with a whopping 3-4 input damage strings.

I am of the school of thought that the winner of the round should be the one who is able to actually execute in a technical fashion (i.e. proper set-ups and damage maximization) in addition to the spacial aspects of zone control and pressure. Just because you can get a confirm in games like BlazBlue [ArcSys/Airdashers] does not mean you can get that 20+ input damage maximization without practice and knowing what it is you should be going for.

IAmSinistar: Yes. Or if you spend, too.
By the way, since your thread is about as popular as the summer sale thread, I'd recommend you put the summer sale's end date on the first post since it still seems to be a very popular question.
Glad I waited on purchasing Gothic 3 + Forsaken Gods... since I was able to get it now for far cheaper. And as I hoped it would, Risen series also went on sale so picked that up as well.

Oh man, my wallet cries while I gleefully covet.

Smart kitty. I'll do that. Shame the HTML <flash> tag is deprecated, eh?
I know it's slightly off-topic, but there have been a few posts recently about games that are better with a controller. If you are on the fence about a game because you don't have a controller, here is a suggestion from me.

Normally, I do not buy "off brand" gaming accessories. However, as I had not purchased a gaming controller in around 10 years, none of the ones I had were compatible anymore, so I had to go out and get one on the cheap. Fortunately, the one I purchased was both affordable and works well. It looks and feels like a PS3 controller and is, in fact, compatible with the PS3 as well as the PC. It is wired, which makes it a bad choice for the PS3, but hopefully that's not too much of a concern if you are using it with a PC.

Here is the listing on Amazon.

Here is the listing on MicroCenter, if you are lucky enough to have such a retailer near you, you can save a few bucks.

Anyway, sorry for derailing talk of the sale for a minute, but I thought this might benefit some people here.

Carry on!

Was just thinking how handy that'd have come. ;-)
I don't recall ever having seen The Settlers games discounted on the site until now. Are they rarely on sale?
Ugh...Broken Sword 5, you torment me! Why must you show up while I am so poor? Please come to say "Hello" on Friday when my bank account has recharged. Thank you.

Not really. Last time they were on May and before that on January and before that on November.

Tekkaman-James: Personally, I like your Daily Deal posts. While Pidgeot's site and RWarehall's spreadsheet keep track of everything, it's nice to be able to just do a forum search, too.

JaqFrost: Particularly as you can just get a quick glance at what you missed since the last time you were around. In other words, I like your Daily Deal posts too, IAmSinistar. =)
So do I. It's too bad GOG isn't giving you affiliate links so you could make a little return for your efforts, useful as they are. I'm sure these have led to some sales.

Don't feel bad, I didn't recall them being on sale before either. Grabbed them all up this time around.
