skeletonbow: I just happened to have the 3rd game on Steam... no idea where it came from though, might have been a gift or something over time that I forgot about, but I don't have the first games so I never played it yet. I'm partly tempted to grab them from the flash sale though and have most of the collection but ... oh crap... another decision to have to make... Dang you GOG! ;oP
BUY THEM! Or at least Disciples II! $1.5 for Disciples II is a steal!
So did anyone figure out what that Special something is that GOG is promising. JMich has been on a roll with his sleuthing skills recently so I would like to know if he ventured a guess. :)

They're updating all games in the catalogue to add libcaca as an output renderer for all of us hardcore geeks that prefer using a text console for everything instead of these silly GUIs and pixels and whatnot!

Rumour has it they were inspired by ttyquake: http://ingles.homeunix.net/presos/quake/4/ttyscreen.html
but disappointed by the lack of colour.

As a result, they are launching GAGcaca tomorrow!

So they're going retro by making GOG stand for Good Old Games again with an ancient interface to boot. :P

Yeah, I thought I would be strong and not shop during this sale :| I haven't followed the prediction science undoubtedly going on already, is there a way to know when specific titles will come around for the flash spot once more?

Not that I'm aware of, it's pretty random with the flash sales, hit and miss but they repeat frequently enough to give lots of opportunity at least. I managed to get every one I wanted and some I didn't really need or at least didn't need right away. By the time the sale is over I/we/everyone might have completely lost all control and just bought everything though. :)
Another question we have been discussing today. Is it somehow confirmed that "700 games on sale till 31st of June" means "700 games on FLASH sale till 31st of June" and we are about to see a whole new set of Flash deals in the nearest days?

I sure wish there was because for the time being it feels like the schedule is working against me similar for some other folks that aren't getting the games they're waiting for that went by in their absence. :)

That's what I'm dreading too, if I buy one, how to stop the floodgates? Doomed! :P

Yeah, add me to that list now! :) Gotta get some sleep soon too.

700 games on sale 50% off until June 30 (exact time of day I don't recall off hand). 200ish games in Flash sale (ish working out to 228 roughly), so with the possible theoretical exception of about 6 or 7 games predicted to be in the flash sale from graphic images in the directory the backgrounds come from that have not yet showed up yet - we've pretty much seen every game that will be in the flash sale. There's a list somewhere in this thread of the remaining background images that did not show up, among them was Banished and Omerta but I forget the rest. There is no indication from GOG that there will be any changes from what they said in the initial announcement. The only things we have not yet seen is a surprise contest (possibly tomorrow's surprise), an all day long freebie game, and flash sale freebies however some people claim to have gotten free games along with their flash sale purchase after they made it so it's possible that's happening invisibly to some people. Also, the highly speculated/expected all-bundle day or days that GOG usually does in quarterly promos.

Might be other unannounced unknowns too but I doubt they're holding out on us very much. :)

You could try the notification system in isthereanydeal.com perhaps, someone said it works for the flash sales here, although I haven't tested it personally for this purpose myself.

Thanks, its just that this is such a long sale that I am not always around sometimes like during the insomnia promo where sleep was the only thing I had to avoid. I also hope there isn't any contest for freebies tomorrow because I am gonna be out for most of the day. :)

I wouldn't worry about it too much if it turns out to be some form of mass freebies because whenever they occur there are usually oodles of game codes spread around the community that people are giving them away to others for months in giveaways and code drops, etc. assuming the codes aren't ilmited time usage. Just poke your head in briefly if you get a chance to see what the fuss is all about. :)

Yeah I will probably check in sometime during the day but if it is a 24 hour thing than it wouldn't be any problem. :)

Especially when most of the flash sales say "Owned" and you convince yourself to grab the one or two that don't. You can't fool me Jack Keane 2! I won't do it!

Indeed. I only start getting tempted when the price dips below $3 though, and really tempted at $1.99 or less. At $1.49 or less I start farting multi-coloured Canadian dineros through a stovepipe into GOG's coffers. :)
