Well, hell. This is slow enough that I'm fixing my wishlist by order of priority in between clearing out old email.

Oh, man, doesn't everyone remember when Insomnia got that slow? That time that NEVER EVER happened, even in the depths of Keane-induced stagnation?
For those not using Barefoot it look like the GOG.com sign has changed to purple.

IAmSinistar: This sale has become Anti-Insomnia. I'm fighting to stay awake for it.

CarrionCrow: To answer your question from the other thread, played Bionic Dues a little bit. Interface was a bit complex, looks like it'll take a bit to get all the mechanics and tweaks down. But since I'm a sucker for giant robots with equally giant guns, I figured it was worth 2 dollars.
I ended up watching the video and took a pass on it. Something about the battle layout. Everything looked like one oneshot explosion after another. (Plus I have a few games I "really want" and don't want to feed my tiny, cute baby backlog and have it turn into a giant, monsterous void of games I won't play! LOL) Thanks for the response though!
Okay, here's a question for everyone - what would you say are the games that you ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE from GOG? Whatever you think is best, it'd be interesting to hear. (Even if it's Fahrenheit.)

Well, there's the thing. Just make sure it turns into a giant monstrous void of games you WILL play! That's the key. ;)

Deus Ex. Anyone who has a stomach that can handle first person perspective needs to play this game. You will never think about games the same way again after playing it.

From the games I've played (which is an embarassingly small amount).

For older games (the whole reason this site was started):

Dungeon Keeper & Theme Hospital -- Bullfrog humour at its finest for me ("Patients are reminded not to die in the corridors")
Rollercoaster Tycoon (if stretched for money, only get the second one) -- a fun theme-park orientated game. Never played it before last year but for someone who is fine playing older games it seems to have stood up quite well.
Creatures -- sadly seemed to be the pinnacle of AI-controlled creature games.
SimCity 4 -- the modern-style city building game for me. Graphically it's held up well, good solid foundation to it.

For newer/indie games:

FTL -- yes, yes, part of the rogue-lite genre that seems to be everywhere. Winning is mirred in chance but every playthrough I've done I've learned something new from it.
Banished -- similar to SimCity 4, but in a medieval setting. Can be initially brutal but once you've got the knack of it, it can be quite good. Also has modding capabilities, including one huge mod called Colonial Charter which has pretty much revolutionised how I play it.

(Edit: uh, in case I completely misread the question, these are the games I think people should look at, not the games I want. Games I want are completely different -- I have all of these bar SC4 on here already :) )

Irrelevant - if GOG further delay to give the Witcher 2 gift codes to all those impatients, the (Witcher 2) subforum gonna sink.. everyone's making a new thread about the "problem".. FFS... A cleaning is necessary in there... :/

Conquest of the New World
Great Battles Collector's Edition

Looks similar to my list. What of those I don't already have, I have wishlisted. (And don't worry. Your next gift will be David Cage's unsung masterpiece....Fahrenheit! -giggles maniacally- Seriously though, that game is such garbage. Never ever buy it unless you want to see some absolutely atrocious failures in storytelling.)

A question for you - is the Creatures series goal-oriented? Does it have a definitive end to each game, or is it more free-form?

I'm going to leave a ton off but here are the ones that jumped into my mind:

The D&D Bundle. This thing is so cheap and just loaded with absolute classics. Even if you never touch the "bonus" games (Dragonshard, Demonstone - which is fun mind you, I played this one on my Xbox) it's worth it alone for BG II and Torment. The Icewind Dales are just icing on a wonderful cake and I haven't even mentioned NWN. So many huge, fantastic and essential classic games.

TIE Fighter. Show GoG / Disney you're happy with their partnership by buying this. This was probably THE game that sucked me into gaming. I loved the fantasy flight sim genre, and this one is detailed, fun and again another huge game. Did I mention you fly a TIE FIGHTER!!!

King of Dragon Pass / Uplink. Two forgotten gems that I'm sure are super hard to track down otherwise. I mention these because 1) well, I'm sure they're hard to track down otherwise ;) and 2) they're just so unique. Games like this really don't get made anymore. They're outside genres, the gameplay is easy to get into but super deep. Sure, maybe both can feel a bit "samey" after a while but in all likelihood by the time that happens, you already would have sunk countless hours of fun into each.

Again, I'm missing tons (especially the indie adventure games - but it's just not my genre).

Other games that really surprised me that I wouldn't have bought otherwise and ended up being huge fun (I love GoG sales):
Miasmata, Expeditions:Conquistador

As much as I want to play the Witcher series from beginning to end (once I have the coin for a hefty video card upgrade), I have to commit quasi-heresy and say I'm looking forward to Cyberpunk even more. Had a bunch of the pen and paper books for that when I was younger and I cannot wait for it to be out in a digital form.

Additional - A Golden Wake is up. 9.99, 33 percent off. Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded to follow.
