The Kao the Kangeroo Collection was released 3 or 4 weeks ago, which looks really cool. As I understand it, they are working to release several new games in December, which we will hopefully see before Christmas :D

Honestly after seeing the reaction they gave to Alekhine's Gun being released here on GOG I'm not going to support Zoom Platform, the owner just came off as an unprofessional whiny brat who takes things way too personally.

I responded to you in the other topic with my own opinion, but to add something here that's a little different...the game in question is I believe the newest release on the entire store and a modern game which got release on consoles that are still active. I would imagine a game like this is kind of a bigger feather in Zoom's cap, a bigger selling point for potential customers, than some of the smaller scale/older titles. What I'm saying is that I can understand if emotions are a bit high over this one, as, other than if they were to release Devotion or Hatred, there are not a ton of similar "big" titles that aren't already on GOG.

Doesn't justify the reaction. They could have taken the high road maybe just advertised there sale I might have bought it there. But this reaction really shows some.... instability which could harm the company in the long run.

In this day and age larger companies want to avoid conflicts and controversy as much as possible as we have seen things can blow up real quick, so if Zoom acts like this whenever a game gets released on another platform Publishers may think twice about dealing with them.

Counterpoint: who as a customer wants to deal with larger companies anymore? They all suck and seem to only care about extracting the most amount of profit possible, while taking away as much control of the product from the customer as possible. If a larger company like GOG doesn't want to release a game because of "messages from many gamers", or because it's "offensive" in some way, a store without such pressure would be a perfect place to release instead.

As I said earlier, I think this particular release may have been a special sort of circumstance. In other words, I don't think Zoom would necessarily act like this on other releases, and they seem to have various connections in the entertainment industry to the degree perhaps they could get away with PR blunders (again, I don't think this was one, but as a figure of speech) in a way that GOG can't, even though GOG is a "bigger" store at a glance.

Well ... have you considered maybe asking on the Zoom Platform Discord? ;-)

Of course, you are entitled to your opinion. However, in Jordan's defense I have to say from my interactions with him, he comes across as a very friendly and approachable guy. He hangs out on the Zoom Platform Discord most days, chatting and sharing jokes with users, sharing recommendations for albums, movies etc. He is also relatively open and transparent (as far as he can be) about discussions they are having with publishers and games they have in their queue to release. If anyone posts about an issue in their Support channel, he often personally responds within an hour and makes sure it gets resolved. I saw someone ask the other day about whether Alien Shooter is up to date with the current version - Jordan responded immediately and had an e-mail sent to the devs within the hour.

How many personal interactions have you had with the owners of GOG? Do you know anything at all about the character of the people in charge of this store? It seems you are perhaps giving them quite the benefit of the doubt, given they are entirely invisible and absent from any communications?

Regarding that particular wording on the Alekhine's Gun store page, from what I saw in the Discord chat, he had intended it to be funny/tongue-in-cheek, but it seems it didn't come across that way. If you want to judge Jordan and the Zoom Platform store based on just that one comment, that is up to you, but I honestly think that would be a bit of an overreaction. He's a human being, after all. He's not a cold corporate suit who only releases statements that have been put through 5 levels of PR filters first.

Inquiring minds would like to know exactly what he said.

Interesting post in that thread by Alexim, who said: That response by the Zoom Platform owner seems like a tit-for-tat response to when GOG staff told him he might be banned for posting in this thread to clear up questions and misinformation because him doing that could be interpreted to be 'advertising.'

I do agree that that post by the Zoom Platform owner regarding "who was first" wasn't very professional. On the other hand, I can also understand why he'd be peeved at GOG and why there is "bad blood" between them, given his experiences with GOG.
