PROTIP: Would be a major scoop if Zoom were to release an actual DRM-free version if Hitman GOTY. ;P

I'm not even sure what I can reply with in this thread in all honesty, I got told off for advertising but then told to post discord links, so all I'll say is I like Hitman, it's a shame GOG have failed to communicate with their users over Hitman 1....2 (I hate these reboot names) but I enjoyed the game when I played it on Steam (forgive me for my sins, I do often double dip!)

Nope no thanks. IO Interactive needs to fix the issue on the GOG version, if they want any money from me. The level of disrespect is over 9000, but let's be honest GOG is to blame the most since they allow such practices. I don't know who was the guy that had the bright idea oh yeah sure let's let some DRM on our platform, but i do know that fellow is pure EVIL. Ever since CDPROJEKT has gone public, shit has started hitting the fan and a new low of out of touch-ness with the community.

I've not seen them do any offers or sales yet, and I've been visiting them for a while.

By the recent revamp of their site though, it looks like they could have Sales planned ... sometime in the future.

The ZOOM Platform is not a scoop kind of store ... more like slow burn or development kind of place.

And you would be mistaken in thinking the ZOOM Platform would have any more say or control than GOG over what type of version Hitman GOTY would be.

In all reality, it would likely just not pass the DRM-Free test to end up on the ZOOM Platform, especially as the ZOOM Platform has far less at stake than GOG. I don't imagine the ZOOM Platform ever has to kiss ass, while GOG are probably coerced into doing so on a regular basis, maybe ... as they have far more to lose if they don't please the big game providers. It's the bigger games here, that make GOG stand out as a DRM-Free store, and that attracts a lot of customers.

Again, I can't say much else I may be banned as the rules they sent us didn't make much sense, but I would say scan the twitter there was some lower prices on stuff

Pfft. That's and understatement. The Epic Store with its own glacial progress is lightning quick in comparison. That said, the latter still has no shopping basket for a multiple-game purchase. *facepalm*

That first bit really does make me wonder about how serious they really are or what ulterior motive they might have. It's almost like selling DRM-Free games is mostly just a hobby to them.

I actually find it quite impressive that Zoom Platform is being successful and growing without doing any sales. They are selling games at full price without feeling the need to sink to the lowest price denominator, differentiating themselves based on quality, true DRM-free and customer service. Their customer service is simply incredible, for anyone that hasn't tried their store yet.

For me personally, DRM-free was never about price, it is about DRM-free. I am perfectly willing to pay a premium for a DRM-free version of a game I want to play. For those that just want cheap games and don't really care either way about DRM-free - that's what Steam/Epic are for.

This is why I couldn't help but laugh when I saw GOG users complaining that the Star Trek games are $10 each. I mean, people have been begging for DRM-free releases of those for years and then, when they do finally see a DRM-free release, people are throwing a fit because the games cost $10 each?

There has to be something in it for the publishers and those that are working to release games DRM-free. There has to be some incentive, right? Otherwise, is thee any wonder that we don't see more games being released DRM-free?

Sorry, can't agree. For me it's about a fair price as well as DRM-Free.
And while I like the idea of the ZOOM Platform, they will get few purchases from me with most current prices.

$10 for you with the StarTrek games, it was $15 for me.

I have principles about price as well as DRM, and it's not just about what I can afford, it is what others less fortunate may be able to afford. I only support capitalism to a point of reasonableness.

Incentive my ass, they should never have been DRM in the first place, and GOG have been around 12+ years, for any decent minded provider to take advantage of.

I get why you feel the way you do, but for me it still has to pass the fairness test.

I'm not about cheap, unless it is a game I am only interested in, not a must have.

Zoom Platform is giving away Killing Time, the original Bloodraynes, Advent Rising, and A Boy and His Blob before those games are removed due to expiring contracts. If you already have an account, those games were automagically added to your library.
