Which extensions are the most handy ones depend on your playing style.

By the way, why is this discussion not in the X series subforum?

blotunga: Trading System Extension is in stock in all Argon Equipment Docks if I remember right.
Anyway the most useful extension is the Docking Computer (you can buy it from the Paranid) and Jump Drives. A transporter is also handy, can be bought where you can buy Jump Drives.
I went to 4 Equip Docks, and found No Computer Items at all. On Military Base had some Combat Software...

Only Place I see Trade Computer Items is the HQ in The Light System.

Well, anything trade related can be found easily in Teladi space at least.

RDouglass1: WPegg; The Key Board Arrows do not change my Direction if The Map Is Open... They Simply Move The Map Items around to Objects on it. I Tried that a couple of times, and same result.
Ok, guess that's another example where a gamepad is really useful.

When I made my First Post, I did not see a Discussion for X Anything....
That is why it is here.

I Got them, Finally, at the HQ In Light System...
Had to Double Click The Item 3 or 4 times, then it Kicked Down to by BUY Box, and Installed.

Next Issue...
I Ran into a Cargo of "Space Fuel" Floating near a Jump Gate.
I could not find any way to Pick It Up and put it in My Cargo Hold.
There were no Commands for such when Clicking the Item, and none of My Left Bar Commands did the trick.
I raed in one Guide That you Could Hang Out Around Combat Areas, and Pick Up Guns or Shileds Now and then.
How is That Done??

To pick cargo up just fly through the container.

AH... And the Container Explodes when you do that?
This one Bumped my ship while I was looking for Tractor beam...

That shouldn't happen. Did you fire on it? Another explanation could be that your cargo bay was either full or too small.

You have to open your cargo bay first with what ever key that is bound to. Also, if I remember correctly, you have to be going fairly slow.

On a side note "space fuel" is actually a type of wiskey in the X universe that is illeagal in most sectors. You might want to watch out for illeagal/contraband cargo as sector police/customs patrols will scan you and attack if you can't/won't eject illeagal cargo.

In X3:R you need to open your cargo bay beforehand.

In Terran Conflict you can't open the cargo bay anymore. But you don't have to belief me. You can look it up for yourself in the manual on page 55.
Yes, no more need for opening the cargo bay manually starting from Terran Conflict. To see if cargo will fit, look at it and look at: its size, how much space each unit takes up and finally how many of that there are then lastly check your ship's cargo space. Too many of an item means those that cannot fit will explode upon contact.

I have talked a lot about all things X3:TC and X3:AP in the subforum as I learnt to play them. No reason this thread could not have been there to help other newcomers to the games.

Thank you viperfdl.

Manual page 55 (pdf reader page 29) also cleared up the part about going slow. Specifically 10meters per second or slower.

Going slow helps you home in, but speed is of no relevance here to be honest. I specifically remember picking up cargo in my Pirate Kestrel, going at full speed (635 m/s) while dodging incoming fire.

Doing some Scouting around Today, and Picked up Over $100 K in Missiles and other goods...
Nice Trip.
One of the Guides said you could hang out near Combat zone, and since they were not shooting at me, That was what I did.. ;-)
