Watch with those flux capacitors or whatnot =)
I am on Windows 10, have been for the past few months. After having Windows 8, it was one of those "it sucks", because Windows 7 was much better as far a user experience goes. Windows 10 is quite a bit better than Windows 8 as far as user experience (my own personal one), and is what I would choose if you need to upgrade.

Antimateria: I haven't upgraded yet myself.
But are you compatible with win 10? Aren't relationships kinda two-way street? =)

sidenote: mind boggling is that Gabriel Knight 3 asks a disc every time. The gog version.

Charon121: More importantly, does the installation mess with the Windows registry or My Documents folder? I don't want to lose any save games or make the operating systems think that some programs are not installed.

mike_cesara: Well, even more, uninstalling some software without prompt: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/windows_10_spyware_on_windows_78_computers/post141

Even if win10 is supported there is still a note:
Please be advised that Windows 10 operating system will receive frequent hardware driver and software updates following its release; this may affect game compatibility
So, games may or may not work, do it on your own risk.
Might have to wait until things settle down before upgrading i guess.

That's what I do but I am a bit interested for new stuff, without good reason. I just like new stuff I guess.. Still I haven't taken the plunge.
I'd take the plunge and swim in it a bit. You do know how to make backups right? Heck, even Windows 10 allows you to revert to your previous OS (but they limit the time to do so).

I understand that "operating systems" are a crucial part of several others' lives and business operations around the world. Some won't change because "it just works". When I saw a couple of the machines at the hospital where my daughter passed away, running "Windows 95" and "DOS", I was horrified.

My money nor the money from the insurance company wasn't improving technology.

Lighten up a bit, take a chance, it won't kill you. :)

Swampland: ...the other is Divine Divinity which ran well on Windows 7 but on 10 it's very slow. Though I bet for the latter I can find a workaround if I get into it.
I have the game downloaded, ready to be burnt into a backup DVD later on. Might as well try it out now.
EDIT: Yes, it seemed slow. Is it DirectDraw messing the game or something?
EDIT 2: Perhaps I figured it out. Open the folder where you installed Divine Divinity, find a file called configtool.exe and open it, then change the "New rendering system" to "Software". This made the loading and the game visuals FASTER than what I got before.

Too american.. I once had pig in my oven tough.. It was tasty.. I did watch over that thing the whole night.. it was worth it.. It tasted good in my mouth. =D
I know that the list of games said to be incompatible (or, most likely, untested) seems daunting, but out of the 30 that I own, only 3 just don't work. The others do work either after re-installing some components (like DirectPlay for Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich and the XNA framework Redistributable for Dust: An Elysian Tale).

Those that flat-out don't work for me are:
- Soul Reaver 2
- XIII
- Tex Murphy: Overseer (to be fair, that one didn't work with Windows 7 either)

There are some with problems
- Divine Divinity (slow performance, but there's a fix for that (originally for Windows 8))
- The Longest Journey (works fine, but it crashes after quitting the game (annoying))
- Pandemonium (Doesn't work. But you can replace the winmm file and install the new version of nGlide to make it work).
- Septerra Core (bad performance, but there are new video files on the forums that makes the game work flawlessly. And to be fair, it ran like crap on Windows 7 and 8 too)
- Ys games (most of them works fine, but you have to run the DirectX 9 version or they won't work at all. No idea why).
- Wizardry 8 (works fine, but crashes when exiting the game)

Note that I haven't tested:
- Aquanox 2
- Baldur's Gate 2
- Fallout 2
- The Temple of Elemental Evil

That's my experience with Windows 10 with the games I own.

InfraSuperman: So, among others, Shogo, Inherit the Earth, Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, Postal 2, SiN Gold, Stronghold, UT 2004 and Wing Commander 3 are not compatible with Windows 10.

Yeah, fuck Windows 10.
I've ran every single title you listed except Inherit the Earth and they all play fine. A few need wrappers like dgVoodoo.

I'm curious though, is that 'fix' the same one as the one I found by myself above? Turning the renderer to the software renderer, or something else?

That's good to hear. I wonder if GOG will ever incorporate dgVoodoo into the installers of games that need it.

mikopotato: Hi,

I just noticed i got an upgrade for Windows 10, currently on 7,

Does it works well with GoG games or games in general?
Don't do it. Just don't. Ever.

Pretty much. Since there's no 3D models (that I've seen so far), it's the best compromise.

Thanks! It did speed up the game considerably. Now I only need to clear up my time so I can dig into a long game such as this. :)
