shiffd: I recently tried to play M&M9 but its broken in W10. I know W10 is new, so I can't complain too much...but how are other people doing with W10 and games on GOG?? Are they working correctly??
I would just prefer they tell us if a game is not compatible with W10 yet, rather than pretend it is and hope it works for us.
Ritualisto: M&M 9 is MIGHT AND MAGIC® 9? If yes it says on the store page that it only works with Windows XP, Vista and 7.
Some advice from me: You can sort for Windows 10 games.
Thank you for the reply that once made, did not require some of the other replies that were made (I think MODs should delete such troll posts where people make comments which repeat information and they add snarkiness...)
I only look at my games in the library, which only said 'windows' when I clicked on it in the library. It did not specify WHAT windows version it was or was not compatible with in the library. Naturally once I own a game I did not think to look at its store page...I already own it!
The sorting advice is very good. Thank you!!!
@GOG staff (if anyone saw this) add to the library when I click on the game, instead of just 'windows' some note or indication of WHICH windows versions the download is for, not just 'windows' since its not a download for any windows, just some of them.
That would have saved me some trouble.
Again thank you for the clarification.

Wishbone: As others have pointed out, they do tell you, right on the game card. You just haven't bothered to check.
What did you expect? That GOG send you an email for every game you own that hasn't yet passed Win10 compatibility checks?
In the library it does not clearly indicate compatibility with windows 10 or not. It just says OS:WINDOWS and then there is a download link. I only look at library, I did not think to have to sort it, I thought by clicking on a game it should show me if there is a downloader for my OS or not, if not, then that would mean the game has no compatible version (offered on GOG anyway) for my OS. SInce it just said "WINDOWS" then I thought that meant they were saying it works with any windows. The could improve this simply- add a () after the OS:WIndows...like (XP,7) or (10) etc. to tell you which OS you need. Probably they should do the same for MAC for games that work with it instead of OSX, OSX (6, 7, 8) etc.
Yes I expect GOG to be clear about what OSs its games work with or not. This is a critical piece of information. IF they can not get the majority of their library to work with W10 they will lose a lot of potential customers.
The WHOLE POINT of this site is to make old games work on modern machines. If you want to play DRM-free old games on old machines and dual-booted old-school OSs...YOU DONT NEED TO PAY FOR THEM!!!!
I already own 10 or 20 games I bought on GOG. I bought these games long ago, before even XP some of them. I bought them on GOG for the DOXBOX etc. that is built in, instead of trying to build it my own or firing up an old machine etc. It's convenience. I have additional games that I own hard-copies but consider buying GOG version if they make it compatible.
For many of us, that is all we pay them to do. They have over a hundred titles you can get free versions of, some even with emulation/emulator compatibility (lots of free emulators out there) that are 100% legal due to age of the programs etc. Also, games like BG etc. need massive modding but they don't directly support modding or host mods, which they should. At-least provide links from the library. I mean seriously, why would we pay them if they don't make the games work on our machines.
