It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Yesterday, I changed my avatar. I think new avatar appeared after 2-3 hours. Then I changed my avatar again, but new avatar still does not appear when I post messages. GOG website shows new avatar in chat, log-in window and etc (see attached screenshots). But community/forum section shows older avatar.

Is it a community bug? Or community section caches avatars slowly?

This question / problem has been solved by moonshineshadowimage
It is just one of the usual gog bugs. Some months ago, the avatars would not change at all. Then it worked again and they changed instantly. And now we have this status where it sometimes changes after a few hours for some users, others need to wait for a few days or even weeks.

Convince enough people to clear their browser cache and it might happen instantaneously.

Is THAT why you can't remember from one day to the next.

Actually, i think it's a bug on your end (sort of). When you changed your avatar earlier, I saw it immediately. I was replying to a thread you participated in yesterday and in the time it took me to type it, your avatar changed so that the quote had the old avatar while the original post already had the new. What is probably happening is your browser is caching the old image and not refreshing it. Do what bela555 suggested, hit ctrl+f5 in your browser, that will force a cache refresh.

I guess you're right. It seems it works randomly.

Do you see the new avatar in my posts? I just see it when someone quotes my posts.

Wait, the lighter colored avatar is the new one? In that case, my apologies, I was wrong. From my end it looked like you went from light to dark, not the other way around. Give me second to try something to (hopefully) confirm it is a GOG issue and not browser cache issue for both of us...

...

Yup, it's on GOG's end. Two machines and three different browsers all show the same thing: dark avatar in your posts, light avatar in quotes of your posts. I'd contact support directly to look at it.

Use a jpg avatar instead of png, it should update immediately.
to avoid nude content

Thank you. Yeah, the light one is the new one. That's the reason why I think avatar system is strange. I changed my avatar 3 time and these results happened:
- 1st time: I changed my avatar from Isaac (The Binding of Isaac) to Shadow Warrior logo (dragon). GOG changed it instantly. Isaac was my avatar when I registered.
- 2nd time: Shadow Warrior -> Alucard (dark). GOG changed after 2-3 hours I think.
- 3rd time: Alucard (dark) -> Alucard (light). Nothing happened. So I decided to post this question.
