Orkhepaj: Taste is not that subjective, fe gangsta rep is clearly for very dumb people.
Some rap is extremely vain for example like Soulja Boy - Crank That, which is self-explanatory.
Eminem - Lose Yourself is a glowing example of powerful 'gangster rap' that has powerful meaning behind its lyrics: to focus only on the present and take advantage of every good opportunity in life that comes along. Even songs like
Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise, at a shallow level, glorifies gangsters. However, if you consider the context and analyze the lyrics, it's a social critique of how poor the hood life actually is and why only fools would pursue such a career to dissuade aspirational listeners from ever considering it. Though with every audience, some people completely miss the point.
Now if you don't like that music, that's fine. I personally don't enjoy American country. But saying it's for dumb people is quite telling of either your close-mindedness or your ability to interpret creative works and think about them critically. Even if you can't, and I also can't since my mind isn't artistic either, there are dozens of articles, video essays, or discussions out there where you can make an attempt to understand before you fully condemn something.
Ethots "mistakely" show their asses on twitch and watching/giving them money is another stupid thing to do.
E-thots today are just online strippers. Strip bars are expensive and a hassle. You have to go look up the dress code so you can actually enter, dress up, go to the bank and withdraw cash, drive down there, stay 6 feet away from the stage, be surrounded by other drunk perverts in your peripheral vision, and have to wait out 20 minutes of driving to get back home to relieve blue balls. And if I'm getting a lap dance, I'm out $120 for 15 mins of dancing. Either way, I have to either drive myself back while being extremely aroused and distracted OR call a taxi to get drunk and aroused me back home. Either way, it's another 20 minutes before I can relieve myself.
OTOH, Twitch e-thots let me view them from the comfort of my own home without all the awkward social discomfort and blue balling. Can be in my briefs without creepy Bernie in the corner giving me a quick smirk and wink when his favourite dancer comes on stage, or having to deal with an expensive drinking tab and a barmaid expecting a 20% tip because she's wearing skimpier clothes. Just pay a few dollars, enjoy the stream, and then go to bed. Not that I've ever used this service before because porn of course. But it's a good option to have if I ever consider it.
So in short, many things "younglings" do/like is stupid. Criticizing them is not "adultitis".
Nothing wrong with criticizing. I do it all the time. But your type of criticizing is based more on emotions than it is on logic. And that's where I come in.
