Fever_Discordia: Yeah, Skidmarks was wrong, sorry I didn't say that explictly!
This was a very good game too, WAY ahead of its time in many ways
I am sure I had it also on the 64, the name eludes me at the moment, may Google it later if no-one else remembers. I remember making my own tracks with huge jumps and setting it on the moon, trying to see how long airtime it was possible to get. IIRC it was quoted to be one of the main inspirations for Skidmarks.

edit: Quoting fail....

Yeah, sounds about right, AFAIK it was floppy disk only - no tape version, if that helps
It hit me on the way back from work: Racing Construction Set

They change the title of the game!!!! B*stersd.

I had the title so firmly lodged in my mind I did not even notice the difference when I found it on Moby. The question now is, how did I find it then?
Well - here is the next one

To tell you the truth, for years I thought it was called 'Racing CAR Destruction Set' Mainly because my cousin told me it was, he also thought that Rick Dangerous was called Rick Dangerously!
I can't remember the name of your new one but I think I might have seen a review in Zzap 64 in the 80s...

*edit* looking it up, I think I must have been remembering 'Accolade Comics' but looking at the shots I'm pretty sure that's not it...

You are correct in terms of being sure it is not Accolade Comics...

I don't know if this game was reviews in ZZap 64 or not. And to early to pinpoint the decade.
Time for a hint?

It is debatable how much it can be called a game, but it did win a few game awards. However, it did not sell very well because it was one of the first of its kind and the hardware needed where not widespread at the time of its release.
More hints? seems this was to obscure...

It was one of the very first games developed solely for CD-rom. It was released in 1989 for FM-Towns, and ported to CDTV and DOS in 1991. If nothing else, then it is enough here to try your google-fu on.

The Case of the Cautious Condor? And yes, that was pure google-fu (FM-Towns does by the way seem like a console for perves...I looked through its list of adventure games to find this, and it was a lot of rather nasty stuff in there).

It is correct. Honestly, the game is not best known for the FM-Towns release, but the CDTV and DOS versions. To bad it was out before CD-ROM where widespread on PC and there is no need going into what happened with CDTV..

Speaking of the FM-Towns games - I have absolutely no idea what you are referring to, I am sure.... but someone really took advantage of the new CD format.... It did get a decent amount of 'normal' games also, but yes, it is a bit infamous today.

Anyway - your turn
I only checked its adventure section, and it was filled with hentai...

Anyway, time for a new game. A game that I feel had plenty of good ideas, but the execution was a bit lacking. I would not mind seeing the devs giving it another go

It looks like the map of Diplomacy but the graphics suggest it is set in more ancient times what with shields and armour and such.

"Great Invasions" by Philippe Thibaut and Luca Cammisa. Indeed, the concept was simply brilliant, but the interface was not polished enough, and there was so much bugs...., pity...
