ElTerprise: And the first one had Scarecrow...
Right, Scarecrow! A certain moment with that guy reaches absolute brilliance, imo!
I'm sure you have already guessed which one I'm talking about... ;)

ElTerprise: But yeah the combat is better in the second one, but i always thought that the open world of it was too shallow to motivate me long enough.
I agree on this, too. Unlike in Asylum, it felt a bit like a not-so-big, empty box needed to connect the "useful" areas. Also, all those Riddler's collectibles (the only attractive in the City, it seems) were a chore, not a fun challenge.

Yes definitely. But we shouldn't get much further into sthe story as we risk to spoil something which would be really unfortunate. After all these are the best games based on superheroes imho.

ElTerprise: Batman...
I played and enjoyed Asylum, and want to play City to an extent, but not very high on my list at all, I don't like superhero stuff for the most part aside from Batman, and the first one didn't over-excite me or anything so...

Papers, Please is depressing? I like the sound of that! I'm only like 20 days in, so, I'm not into the meat of it yet. Really excited for where it is going already and how the potential is. I'm quite the sharpshooter, btw!

Papers, Please is a really great game. An I still didn't get all endings yet.
I'm currently playing Mortal Kombat 1+2+3 on my PC, and on my consoles, Super Smash Bros for Wii U, Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric, Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis (I like the latter two despite the popular opinion on the games).

Thinking about starting Torchlight this weekend. It came with my PC but required Wild Tangent, so I took advantage of a GOG sale just to have it without the added software and DRM. It's been on my mind recently.

ElTerprise: That's a good one. Imho the best of the series.

Enebias: I tend to agree! :)
Imo, Arkham City has a better combat system (which is actually just an improvement over the same formula of the previous installment) and much more variety in gadgets and moves, yet the first has better design, plot and an overall more convincing atmosphere.
When Arkham City seems more like a tribute to fans ("we need to include ALL the caharacters in a single place"!), Arkham Asylum feels more similar to the comic book.
What are your thoughts on Arkham Origins? I really liked both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, I prefer Arkham City just a tad just because it was my intro to the Arkham series (and because of the Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC) but I feel like both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City sort of stalled about 75% of the way through (although both ended in a fantastic way).

Arkham Origins on the other other hand I felt started off extremely slow and dull but kept getting better and better (although it overstayed its welcome just a bit) until the end. It (Arkham Origins) had a far better Mad Hatter encounter than Arkham City and better side villain/character interactions in general than Arkham City, in my opinion.
PC I am playing wing commander 5...but the damned 2nd mission keeps kicking my ass.

on my PS3, Heavy Rain.
BioShock 1 (PC).

I can't bring myself to harm the Little Sisters, but I'm perfectly fine beating the shit out of the Big Daddies. Still enjoying it for the most part, even though System Shock 2 (didn't play the first one) is much better.
After beating Freespace 1, immediately begun Freespace 2 with FS2Open mod.
Man...already I'm amazed with the game. Also joystick enhances immersion a lot.

In Rome total war, my Rome army was conquering Spain well. The main Spain army has been wipe outed.

I didn't play it! :P
I was more interested in a sequel that could wrap up the story (the -back then- still not named Arkham Knight) made by Rocksteady rather than in a prequel, and the way WB handled Origins raised suspects of cash-grabbing (lots of bugs, poor reception, recycled assets, developement by other teams with no apparent reason), so after a while I just forgot about it. Plenty of other games to play, out there! XD

As i mentioned ealier imho Origins is the weakest of the three but it was not as bad as many said it was. Yes some of the side stuff was better than in City - i really liked the crime scenes - but once again the open world was too shallow.

Another problem i had were some technical issues due to the fact that i have an AMD GPU. And i found the boss fights unbalanced at times *cough*Deathstroke*cough*.
Just bought Resident Evil: Revelations 2 and installed it so I am gonna jump right in and see how it goes. I have heard that it is worse than the first part, but I am huge fan of the series, so I do not think it will matter to me.
I logged on today hoping to be able to immediatly d/l and play The Witcher 3.... but no dice yet, so I'm going to go play some more Fallout 3, with lots of mods! :-D
I am always busy with many game campaigns at the same time in parallel. The ones I've put most time into receently are:

1. Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition: it has gotten a lot of flak on this forum, but I find it to be a great enhancement to the original game and all the GUI tweaks make it play much more fluent, taking me just two weeks of gaming to arrive at chapter 5.

2. Fallout 3: my first Fallout game and I like it a lot. Very long, it has taken me 3 years including pauses, but now I've finished the main campaign and I'm playing the DLC expansions one by one.

3. Dragon Age: Origins: my favourite game of the last 2-3 years has been relegated to 3rd place. Finished an Origins and an Awakenings campaign and two of the DLC's (Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt) two months ago, still 6 campaigns going on. Most of my time went to the separate DLC in which you play Leliane and there's no user-created Player Character. It's a very informative playthrough of Leliane's background story you're only told of when you have her as an NPC. Now you get to play the story.

4. Titan Quest Immortal Throne: one of my four characters finished the main campaign, half of my characters (2) are now busy with the expansion part of the game.

5. on PS3: Battlefield Bad Company:a very light hearted and also easy shooter, but fun as a diversion when I feel down.

6. on PS2: just started the namesake of Baldur's Gate: the Dark Alliance game.
Mount & Blade Warband: Gekokujo mod. Gekokujo is a mod set in pre-modern Japan. It's surprisingly detailed, tons of time and setting appropriate armor and weapons are available, NPCs are dressed appropriately, the dialogue (from character creation, to the default first mission, and more) has been rewritten to fit the setting, the towns and world environment have been redone to fit the setting, and even the arena has been changed (to a dojo). I can imagine this mod will be just as much of a time sink as vanilla Warband.

I also got around to (finally) installing the Complete (2009) mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl. I haven't experienced any bugs yet and I can't really tell if it does actually look better (which is one of the mod's claims) because it starts off seemingly just before nightfall and everything is a bit dark, much darker than in vanilla.
