Leroux: I'm usually not much of a fan of Diablo-style ARPGs, they're alright, but often get pretty repetitive after a while; yet I did like
Nox back in the days, for its slightly different, more arcade-y and story-focused approach, shorter length and varied content based on character class (haven't played it in ages though)
gog2002x: What about Grim Dawn? - while Diablo-ish, had a lot of story with a huge world with plenty of exploration. Was never boring and the Expansions only increased its value, in a good way.
I've played some 25+ hours, then took a break and never got back to it. It was alright, if also a bit repetitive, but maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it anymore and/or distracted by something else when I took that break. It was definitely one of the better ones. I did manage to complete some Diablo-style ARPGs in my lifetime, including the original Diablo, Torchlight 2 and Titan Quest. Also Kult: Heretic Kingdoms, Nox and Divine Divinity, if those still count, although they were a lot more story-oriented. But for each one I completed, there are probably at least three others I abandoned...
Something else that wears me down in these games is the constant inventory management, comparing stats, deciding what to pick up, equip, keep, sell, throw away etc. The more complicated that gets and the more limited the inventory is, the more it takes away from my fun.
