WinterSnowfall: I does look pretty neat. I've had my share of 4X games and I'm a bit reluctant to try "yet another one" at this point, but Falling Frontier colors me interested, mainly because it appears to be more of an RTS than a 4X "it's gonna take you 72 hours and some serious head scratching to get in a position to win a game". If anything, it looks more like a Conquest: Frontier Wars (ha!) of the 2020s.
Breja: Unfortunately, I'm pretty bad even at "normal" RTSes :( I was never very good at them to begin with, and I only seem to have gotten worse with age. When the second campaign in Polanie 2 (KnightShift if you prefer) wiped the floor with me this year I realised I should probably throw in the towel and retire from the genre altogether. I guess I need RTS games to come with a super easy "story" difficulty setting like some RPGs do these days :D
Maybe if you find some patient nice people to play with that isnt too agressive and more chill to the gameplay/doesnt mind waiting for newbies/greenhorns or people wth disabiltys you can find some enjoyment in it again.
But then you probably need a game thats not too dificult to learn as well.
the only suggestion that comes to my mind is command and conquer
Though finding some relaxed nice chilled people to play with that can learn you the ropes and few tricks to make playing it a bit easyer are probably harder. Keyboard shortcuts and other tips.
recuires a headsett so you can talk to the person youre playing against also though or he talks/explains to you
Its just a suggestion though
For the story i strongly reccomend Homeworld but thats probably a bit too advanced for you
Command and conquer isnt that bad in the story department either
especially if you like what ifs scenarios
But if you struggle alot because you find it hard to learn systems etch or the logic behind real time stategy games it migth be easyer to play in some multiplayer session if you do find some relaxed chill people.
Of course you wont become a world champion at it or beat the koreans probably, they are just People with crazy realtime strategy game experience and will probably beat you in 9 games out of ten in games like starcraft
Probably even more.
If the age has finally cougth up in the reflexes/reaction time and dexterity department i dont have alot of tips other than stretching excercises or excercices that can increase dexterirty or at least slow down the loss of dexerity and reaction time due to age a little bit.
I struggle a bit in platformers or in games i must input alot of commands with buttons/keys at once or in rapid succesions due to this myself
