rjbuffchix: Consumers provide things like raising awareness of brand and providing data (e.g., customers spending money not only gives the business money but shows what sells/what doesn't).
True, but many big businesses have enough super loyal fans/consumers(more so than us I mean) to do that for them, for money/stuff or even for free.
If I might add, that's one thing I like about people like you(with strict principles and morals).....most of you don't blindly consume like most of the rest of us. If someone created all future humans to be similar to people like you(albeit a bit more flexible/etc) they'd really have to watch every move they made and be more accountable. :)
rjbuffchix: Also I know you are asking generally but surely you have seen me post multiple times about how I feel DRM-free games are undervalued by the market (for now at least) and imo are worth even more than full price. I would call that a pro-business position that happens to dovetail with a particular pro-consumer position (DRM-free is good for consumers, though most people would say higher prices aren't).
The thing is that many more are bargain hunters/frugal(unless it's something they reallly like or they are rich, or are like you/others like you).....not everyone pays full price either because they are tight with their money or(like me) on a budget.
Essentially there are more like you but more of them don't care what the companies that make their favorite things do as much as you/others, yet they have money to burn.
rjbuffchix: I hope everyone here is as vigilant now with the loss of Downloader, as they were in 2017. I want to believe Galaxy will always remain optional...I really do.
I have a feeling it will....with GOG seemingly afraid to do anything wrong(on social media, the forums, other places) and suffer a backlash, I don't think they would go that far(if only not to lose a ton of goodwill and business).

Dalthnock: Here's one more: when those geniuses have driven everyone away with their sniping, it'll be just us misfits, posting crap & being downvoted furiously by people who hate us, but can't stay away because they gotta protect the forums!
I'm not the only one who sees/thinks that? Small world.
But yeah, some of the more fervent forum goers who do such claim they want to better the forums, and they seemingly think(and claim) the best way to do that is to engage in these petty low rate "wars" against people like me/you/etc & derail threads they dislike/sh*tpost/troll others...essentially those types want to clean up the forum by dumping trash into it and lighting it on fire.....like Nero fiddling at the burning of rome.
(
Forgot this bit: They also have been low rating more people lately.....basically anyone that says anything too critical of those they like or of things they support, and also anyone else[that isn't liked by them already] who gets along with those here they already low rate/dislike....leading to some threads[of other users, even] turning into a sea of red marks)
