^^ That. And in plenty of other ways too.

GOG.com: Like we said, our idea is to allow anyone to gift 5 copies of each game per day as a measure to stop resellers and other such evil-doers from buying a lot out to sell at a higher price. Fortunately for forum contest winners, that makes receiving gifts unlimited!

xyem: Oh yes, people buying your product at a price you offered it to them at and then selling it at a profit when and where they can.

That's just so evil.

You know who is going to be affected by this? Honest users. Everyone else is going to work around your limit nearly instantly (multiple accounts, multiple IPs..).

Why not just implement DRM already? You're actually adopting the mentality for it.

An arbitrary restriction which will only affect honest customers while the unwanted behaviour is merely inconvenienced at most is one of the core reasons DRM is stupid and this fits that bill.

Seriously GOG, you are losing your way. You are literally doing the exact same thing DRM does: fights an unwinnable battle where the only casualties are the innocents.
Thanks for that post. I did not even think about it in this way. But you are right. In the end, this will only hurt legit customers and not people who want to do some shady business with gog keys.

Nice to see you about still :) Xyem's weekly giveaways were one of the first things that stood out to me about these forums when I joined. Unfortunately this year has gone downhill well and truly for GOG.

gloombandit: ironic quote: This video only plays in the United States.

Lemon_Curry: Yeah, it's such a shame they removed the worldwide access. Luckily, the show airs on Danish TV though I still miss out on the extended interviews.

DeathDiciple: The fun part is that he linked me that very episode right before my post. Just as you think censorship can't get more ridiculous. Hilarity overload.

And, it actually plays here just fine (and it was playing on some weird ass chinese site he linked me too but don't remember which)

Lemon_Curry: By 'he' I hope you're still talking about your friend because I have absolutely no recollection of doing either of those things. ;D
I love their regional restriction message for Australians:

"Sorry, but this video is unavailable from your location. But hey, at least you have kangaroos and boomerangs. Plus you can still watch clips from The Daily Show and Jon Stewart at thecomedychannel.com.au"
quick question, if I buy a game on here is it a download is it a dick sent to my address?

Hehe... you said dick... hehehe. "Ahem".

The site is completely digital, which means that you won't receive a disk for the game of your choice. Instead, the game will be added to your account and from there, you will be able to download it. For more info about downloading games, you can take a look here.

Obviously, as these things correlate, the lack of Xyem's Weekly Giveaway has caused GOG to go downhill!

:P

Haha what I wrote well and truly does sound like there was a correlation, so I'll run with it. Seriously Xyem, when you are going to fix all the problems this site and forums have been having for months now? Restart your weekly giveaways and I'll help out with Tarnicus' Weekly Takeaways to balance the equation :P
General question: I haven´t heard that anybody ever mentioned GOG-key resellers. Do they really exist?
It´s well-known that Steam-/ Origin/Uplay-Resellers have spreaded all the world round and some of them are using quite illegal methods! (which are even "bad" and not just illegal= natuarally illegal)
But I´ve never heard that anybody already did this for GOG-keys...

There have been a few such cases, but before regional pricing entered the picture, there was no reason to do so, since it wasn't easy getting cheap GOG keys. The Fallout trilogy was one of the big cases, and the reason the keys were invalidated. And there have been a few cases with The Witcher 3, and possibly Age of Wonders 3 and Divinity: Original Sin.

Humble Store is selling a GOG code for Defender's Quest, along with a Steam key and a Humble Store DRM-Free download. In addition, they are selling the Witcher trilogy as GOG codes.

There sure are! Search the forums for "giveaway" and you'll find thousands of instances of people who have bought GOG games and then sell them to others for a smile. Absolutely disgusting practise! ><

Well, I guess Humble is an offical reseller, as they are an offical reseller for steam as well!
Or am I wrong?

Oh, my mistake. Regarding unofficial resellers, I have seen a polish site selling Witcher 3 a bit more expensively than its Russian price and Divinity: Dragon Commander (the standard version) being sold at 8 bucks. I might have also seen Divinity: Original Sin sold at about 15 bucks, but I can't be certain if it was the GOG or Steam version.

Was it this dodgy Polish website? US$36.12 for The Witcher 3 pre-order! Oh and it is CD Project Red's site :)
