I remember playing it and yeah that swamp level is bad. But overall enjoyed it a lot.

Never played the second though. And how I regret never getting these games back when they were really cheap. I would have gotten the Terminal Cut versions for free too! Now they're a lot more expensive :sad:

In some ways the second game was an improvement, but it was also pretty jank as well, even moreso than the first game.
It had a really odd difficulty curve where one second the enemies are super easy and then suddenly you get beaten down pretty fast and then it gets easy again (in the same combat scenario!), and some of the environmental kill puzzles were a bit awkward.
Still, they did try to improve the combat by adding combos, there was a bit more platforming and you got more special abilities.

I still love this game. Hell I even like Contract J.A.C.K.. It's those series that I really wish could be available again.

I kept reading that Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory are basically unplayable on modern systems, which was also why they never made it here when the first one did. Is that still true?

As for the rest, that was also my impression based on reviews back when each was released, that Blacklist is the only worthwhile later one in the series.

I believe Pandora Tomorrow is the only one, thus it not being sold anywhere. But there are guides to make it run.

Chaos Theory is completely fine, though. Some tweaks are necessary to up the resolution but nothing major.

All right, thanks for the rundown. Didn't realize there were only six games. It doesn't seem like it should be too difficult to get a physical copy of Pandora Tomorrow.

With GOG's renewed focus on bringing back classic games and make them run on modern PCs, Pandora Tomorrow would be a perfect game to do it :)

I've played the game a lot, so this time I cheated a bit and used an online map to collect all the hidden packages to get the military helicopter. ;) I always cheese missions with helicopters, this time I tried to step it up.

I'm not going to play it again, but it would be awesome to live long enough to make a replay of the series someday ;)

I completed the first two missions (and the training segment) of Splinter Cell, meaning that I'm already further than I ever got when I was younger.

The game is very linear, which makes each section like a puzzle that you have to figure out to get through undetected. In that regard, I would say it's much closer to Metal Gear than it is to its other main inspiration, the Looking Glass games. I don't really mind that, it works well. I've been running into some bugs on the third mission, unfortunately, one of which seemingly broke the game because a script didn't trigger properly. I'll give it another try over the weekend.

Would be nice. I'm also not sure why Chaos Theory isn't here since it is already available digitally elsewhere.

Oh, it sounds like a good idea to try SC again. I've never finished it.
As of SC:PT – completed the game years ago and loved it. It would be great to add it to GOG library. The same for SC: Chaos Theory.

That's unfortunate. I don't recall having any breaking game problem. Hope it'll get sorted out.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's because of Ubisoft. They seem to no care for GOG for a long time.
