That's the one I'm interested in of the current PC version FF releases. ^_^

Side note:
Sadly I can't think of a way for this weeks Enigmatic Hint to mean: One Must Fall 2097. T_T


I'd like to point out that just because a company has released something as freeware in the past doesn't mean it can't be resold in the present.

And with the usual ease of installation and use of a GOG edition release there are many games that have been at one point released for free that I'd be happy to purchase. -_^

Not to mention the bonus content that usually is included with a GOG edition! ^_^

Yeah, the thought of listening to computer game soundtracks usually leaves me cold but the C&C series would be WELL worth it!

Since tiberian is involved in the first game, perhaps that game is coming.

But I'm still leaning most towards Crystal Caves.

Fever_Discordia: Funny thing about the early C&C games is that they were made freeware at one point for to celebrate the anniversary and / or release of one of the newer C&Cs at one point, but it now seems unclear as to whether EA intended to only make them freeware for a limited time or permanently - EA no longer hosts freeware downloads of them but other, otherwise legit sites do, not sure if that's just an oversight though...

Either way, maybe EA thinks that someone as high profile as GOG hosting the early ones for free would hurt sales of the packs they sell but GOG doesn't want to just sell the packs as it seems a bit of a con

Yes there are freeware versions for C&C out there but as I know they are not made compatible with newer systems. You have to do a workaround to get them running and the addons for example Counterstrike and Aftermath for Red Alert 1 are not included. I bought the 10th Anniversary Edition. Thankfully it doesn't have a online activation, only cd keys.
