triock: Don't forget FF III - http://store.steampowered.com/app/239120/
That's the one I'm interested in of the current PC version FF releases. ^_^

Side note:
Sadly I can't think of a way for this weeks Enigmatic Hint to mean: One Must Fall 2097. T_T

I'd like to point out that just because a company has released something as freeware in the past doesn't mean it can't be resold in the present.

And with the usual ease of installation and use of a GOG edition release there are many games that have been at one point released for free that I'd be happy to purchase. -_^

Not to mention the bonus content that usually is included with a GOG edition! ^_^
( OMF + Soundtrack! T_T <--- Tears of joy. )

Yeah, the thought of listening to computer game soundtracks usually leaves me cold but the C&C series would be WELL worth it!

Holy Awesome! Thank you! :D

It's so weird I actually remembered this game as I have no previous story with it. I had heard of it a few times, but never even seen it before.

^_^

But I'm happy I got it right.

You're welcome :)
And here I thought it was going to be Breaking Bad: The Video Game! Very Disappointed ;P

tfishell: I'd keeps my hopes low as EA seems rather content to let the games stay on Origin. However, maybe SimCity 4's sales encouraged EA to allow a few more games to appear here.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Command_%26_Conquer:_Tiberian_series - "Command & Conquer (1995): The genesis of the Tiberian series as well as the C&C franchise in its entirety. The original Command & Conquer game is called Tiberian Dawn in several readme files and FAQs for Westwood Studios' subsequent C&C games." Since tiberian is involved in the first game, perhaps that game is coming.

But I'm still leaning most towards Crystal Caves.

Fever_Discordia: Funny thing about the early C&C games is that they were made freeware at one point for to celebrate the anniversary and / or release of one of the newer C&Cs at one point, but it now seems unclear as to whether EA intended to only make them freeware for a limited time or permanently - EA no longer hosts freeware downloads of them but other, otherwise legit sites do, not sure if that's just an oversight though...

Either way, maybe EA thinks that someone as high profile as GOG hosting the early ones for free would hurt sales of the packs they sell but GOG doesn't want to just sell the packs as it seems a bit of a con

I say this a lot but see also:

Wow EA selling a game that Origin systems made Free and they kept free for years for 4.99 on their silly Steam clone, a game we still can get for free here or pick up with the much improved Ultima's 5 and 6 here for what a dollar or two more? Stay classy EA..

Yes there are freeware versions for C&C out there but as I know they are not made compatible with newer systems. You have to do a workaround to get them running and the addons for example Counterstrike and Aftermath for Red Alert 1 are not included. I bought the 10th Anniversary Edition. Thankfully it doesn't have a online activation, only cd keys.

Your Enigmatic Hint for this week! :D
I have a mouth and I must scream.
Diablo! Blizzard confirmed! :D
For some reason it reminds me of the Dr. Brain games.
