I more than match the recommended settings with the same Radeon model they list, so I'm hopeful for a good framerate.

I don't know why video memory is hardly ever listed either, I'm going to take a guess at a 2GB minimum requirement though, very few games take advantage of 4/8GB cards as they aren't in common use yet.

Just saw the specs.. the minimum ones.. *sigh* nevermind, i'll buy a W3 boxed copy as soon as i can afford it but i don't think i'll play it soon enough.. I should be careful with the spoilers the next 5 (?) years.. :P

Please not, Nvidia Gameworks is 0% optimized for any AMD hardware (obviously). I tested an early alpha build of a game, which uses Gameworks and my AMD could only bring up 40-60 fps with lots of players on the field, while any nvidia crap card had steady 60 fps.

It doesn't matter if the game is well optimized, The Witcher 2 runs great on my AMD GPU eventhough it also has an Nvidia (way its meant to be played) logo at the beginning. The same goes for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes on PC, where Nvidia has an entire page dedicated to showing the graphical improvements and options in the game.

Despite the partnership/sponsorship or whatever you want to call it, the game also runs fantastically on competent AMD cards. Most people arguably consider it to be the best PC port of last year that should be held as a benchmark of how games should be properly optimized.

You are 6 months behind the initial release date and that's the level of optimization you are offering us? What's wrong with you? A cluster of "next gen" consoles doesn't have half of the computing power you deem as minimum requirements for the PC version.

This is a joke. I'm not going to upgrade my pc twice a year just to meet your minimum requirements when I can comfortably play all other AAA titles with what I already have.

The Nvidia Gameworks Framework was released after Witcher2 AFAIK. Therefore Witcher2 might have some generic graphics optimizations, but is not entirely based on nvidia code base.

I still think that if the games are optimized properly then it does not make a difference, all Ubisoft PC ports are absolute shite with the exception of UbiArt and Far Cry games which runs fine on AMD. :)

it's just that the progress nearly stopped for the past few years because of the consoles... now the new generation is here (even though I agree their power is nowhere near these requirements) so a mild "jump" was to be expected :) wait for a year, upgrade your computer and you should be fine for the next few years (of next gen consoles' life)

Now lets not jump to conclusions here. That's why we're asking them this. Keep in mind we have not seen any benchmarks or any indication that it is even Nvidia only optimized. Its a rumor being thrown around because the they put the 770 and 290X side by side. Exactly, it can run fine or run badly depending on optimzation. But the sheer fact that that a game of this magnitude may be system biased (read baiters on hardware forums claiming how Nvidia is better because of this and other shit) will piss people off. Even if its Nviida gameworks, I think CDPR is more than capable of making it run equally well, but this nasty rumor that this game may run badly due to bias to Nvidia (differentiate between Nvidia gameworks and Nvidia bias, people!) is dangerous to CDPR image. So I again, ask my question rephrased,

Will TW3 run equally well on hardware with similar specs (ie clock, texture and shader units etc) no matter what GPU PCB maker?

GPU is a little over my spec, but I'm not planning to buy this game any time soon, so not a problem.

I am not sure which cluster of "next gen" consoles you're referring to because the game is not coming out on WiiU. Xbox One's GPU is similar to AMD Radeon HD 7790, while the closest equivalent to the PS4's graphics chip being the desktop AMD Radeon HD 7870 according to the PC equivalent performance comparison of the two by Digital Foundry.

So the minimum PC requirements seem perfectly reasonable as they also list the AMD GPU Radeon HD 7870 as the basic requirement to properly run the game.

Ok, I did some reading on Nvidia Gameworks and according to the Anandtech article Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is not using Gameworks so I was mistaken about that. While The Witcher 3 is definitely on the list for using some Nvidia Gameworks specific features so there is cause for concern.

That being said Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeros performance difference in FPS is due to driver issues (again) and has nothing to do with the game itself which is optimized really well, as can be seen from this recent Performance Benchmark comparison between Nvidia and AMD GPUs.
