Just a little angry rant so...

This freaking Jazzpunk drives me nuts. Its literally "DRM-FREE + Linux = GTFO"

GOG is not super good at getting ports fro Linux. Its maybe partly due GOG issues or legal issues or, sometimes, just because developers is jerks.
Linux version of jazzpunk is absent on GOG but back in 2015 it was part of Humble Weekly Bundle: Extra Life 2015. I emailed them several times about GOG but they never responded. In the end they released Director Cut here but linux is still missing.
And just recently, as i found out, they finally updated Humble version to Director's Cut (probably). Aaaand most interesting thing is that THEY REMOVED DRM-FREE LINUX VERSION from everyone's accounts.
Not just updated Win+Mac and leved old linux build as is but erased all traces to old Linux version. On https://www.humblebundle.com/store/jazzpunk its also not mentioned anymore for DRM-FREE.
I'm going to mail them but again, they never answered me, albeit some folks on GOG received answers.
So Jazzpunk DRM-FREE for linux is no more now. Big thanks to Necrophone.
Dont forget about recent Coma recut and Corpse Party too.

Important part is "We’re picking up some speed again now, however, and the Linux port for TSFT is up on Steam and most of the other portals too."
So there is hope it will arrive soon.

Maybe it's just my impression but it seems GOG finally are getting their grips together with the Linux community, I've passed the entire weekend burning through Sphinx, which is great btw and surprisingly uses less than 200mb of memory and not a single crash so far (halfway through more or less).

Also the recent appearance of Linux - Sudden Strike 4 on GOG gives me some hope that Kalypso are making an effort.

Signal From Tolva was made in Unity so there's a 99% chance it will appear here very soon, on Steam it was released just 4 days ago and it's not even listed as a Linux compatible game there yet either. So yeah give it time.

As for Kalypso, I'm also hoping they'll start bringing all the overdue Linux versions over here, but I'm not believing it until I see another one.

I complained to Humble about this fraudulent behaviour in a formal letter-writing style ("Dear ..."), asked them to resolve this so I don't need to consider taking Necrophone Games to court, and told them that, since there's apparently no curation to prevent purchases from being pulled, I'm now considering only buying from GOG.

We'll see if anything comes of it.

Either way, I'm now off to waste who knows how much time digging through my stacks of DVD+R backups to find and make copies of my DRM-free Linux Jazzpunk backup.

One thing is i simply dont understand is WHY? Yes, we have a bunch of games here released without linux ports. Some is thanks to absence of Gog Galaxy, some is because developer of AAA games dont want to "waste time" on GOG and so on, sometimes it due poor quality (and resulting poor support).
But Necrophone's Jazzpunk not fits here! Its not AAA title to behave like spoiled brat and its not tied to Galaxy and old linux build worked mostly fine for me (there was several glitches but nothing even close to be serious issue), its Unity after all. Heck, i think build on Humble wasnt updated even once since its bundle release, right from 2015 and they was pretty much Ok with that all this time. And now they just...

What stinks here is that they did it not because they stopped supporting the Linux version (Steam still has it), but apparently because they wanted to mess up DRM-free Linux users (only Linux ones). It's very weird and I see no good explanation for such behavior.

You probably know that already, but optical discs are not a good long term back up medium. They simply deteriorate with time. Regular hard drive can survive much longer.
Here is what I've just found: Given that Sony is involved, may be they just messed it up. Though why would Sony require to mess up Linux version and not others is still weird.

Other possiblity - they don't have Linux developers on board and had to contract someone who required Steam as a method of tracking sales percentages. Not sure how GOG and Humble handle that.

Well, there is one other possibility (on the verge of conspiracy theory right now due to lack of any hard proof): Valve just wants to make sure that "Linux == Steam".

There was a "cool story" about some coffee company (Nes**e) conducting an experiment: it picked an isolated island and started bribing local athorities to outright ban any other sorts of coffee than "N**cafe" and all competing coffee companies. The goal was to achieve total switch in local language and culture. They were trying to find out whether it is possible to completely purge the word "coffee" from peoples' minds and replace it with their own brand (as we know nearly happened with "Xerox" etc.).

While this maybe was just a fairytale, we saw: Valve removed Tux icon from its store, it inserted SteamOS before "Linux" wherever possble and a lot of SteamOS ports only available on Valve's store. And now this…

I'm well aware... I'm just not yet in a position to migrate all of my DVD+Rs over to hard drives. Hence my purchasing of a stockpile of JVC Taiyo Yuden media I trust to cover the period needed to research, save for, and migrate to a post-optical-media data hoarding solution.

Beyond that, I augment the ISOs for discs meant to not to serve in concert with a cloud counterpart (eg. GOG, Humble, my GitHub account, etc.) with ddrescue ECC before burning to further reduce the chances of data loss.

Thats possible, but 1) Its Unity 2) Still, why remove old build? For example, Even after Trine (firts) was updated to Ex. edition old (original) builds is still available for download. Even GOg allows one to request old (initial) Divinity Original Sin build if they have need for it.

Yeah, all that doesn't really explain it well. And developers hiding from their own bad decisions doens't make it better either.
