Wine-staging 3.6, from the new branch, has been pushed out I see. It's at level 1, so should be tested, safe and stable I should hope. Didn't see much of an update log when checking around, but I've installed it.

Currently playing games with native Linux support, but it's good to see this project continued.
Game: Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy
Version: GOG v. 2.0.0.8 EN
Installer MD5:
- f6be5dbae76289bfdb58eef01913f85e setup_amerzone_2.0.0.8.exe

Distro: Linux Mint 18 Sarah MATE 64-bit
Kernel version: 4.4.0-119-generic x86_64
Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics
Wine version(s) tested: Wine 3.5
WineHQ AppDB link: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=10135 (awaiting my version & report to be accepted)

Install notes: Installs perfectly. Installed with PlayOnLinux (but without any script or predefined settings; as a non-listed application). The problem of 3 traditional runtime errors ending all my GOG installations does not occur in this case.
How well does it run: Perfect. The game has been completed. No issues.
Details: I'm using budget laptop with Intel Pentium CPU 3550M 2×2.30GHz + integrated Intel HD Graphics on board.
Did anyone try Star Wars: Episode I Racer in Wine? Wine AppDB is quite outdated for it.

I know my copy from when it came out work, I've installed it into a used prefix (since it worked in the prefix, bit hacky but I don't care) so not sure but these are all the overrides that's active in the prefix: https://pastebin.com/R69mHQP1

GOG modified the game, so it's a different binary I suppose.

I just did get a try in of the GOG version, and it works. But I fount I had to copy racer.exe over from my install over to GOG to get it the screen configuration to work, tried GOG's way but it reset the config back to 320x200.

A linky to racer.exe: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6ia8jral8ve9may/RACER.zip?dl=0
Hello. Just a quick report about HARD RESET REDUX: since DXVK commit r1061.77d0424 (02-May-2018 16:02) the game is playable. Constant 60fps with maximum options.

More about: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk
Where to get the DXVK: https://haagch.frickel.club/files/dxvk/
Just put dxgi.dll and d3d11 in the same place of the game executable and use Winecfg to put them in "native, builtin".

The only problem I found is that the videos aren't playing. Someone could help?

Thanks for reporting this, after the first Shadow Warrior was ported, I was hoping they will also port the rest (Including SW2). As we both know that wasn't the case, so I'm glad to see it working well with DXVK.

I'm about to head to bed, tomorrow I will run a few tests and try to get those movies working. :-)
Reservoir Dogs Bloody Days (removed from gog catalog a few months ago), runs if disabling d3d11.dll (Wine 3.6 Staging). It works like Thea: The Awakening.
I checked the no videos issue about Hard Reset Redux and I found a lead:

The terminal outputs this line when it tries to play the intro videos:

0049:fixme:wincodecs:FormatConverter_CanConvert Unsupported destination format {f5c7ad2d-6a8d-43dd-a7a8-a29935261ae9}

The number code in bold seems to be referring to the https://github.com/fherzog2/flif_windows_plugin

--------------------------

I have yet to find a way to get it working though.

that is GUID_WICPixelFormat32bppRGBA

$ grep f5c7ad2d -ri wine-git/include/*
wine-git/include/wincodec.idl:cpp_quote("DEFINE_GUID(GUID_WICPixelFormat32bppRGBA, 0xf5c7ad2d,0x6a8d,0x43dd,0xa7,0xa8,0xa2,0x99,0x35,0x26,0x1a,0xe9);")
apparently there is a patch in staging that adds support for this format
https://dev.wine-staging.com/patches/35/

did you try the game with wine-staging ?

I haven't, I'll compile a fresh copy of 3.7 with staging and report back.

Update:

Tried with Staging 3.7 (all patches applied), the error is gone from terminal however videos still don't play.

Game: Star Wars Episode 1: Racer
Installer MD5s: setup_star_warstm_episode_i_-_racertm_1.0_hotfix_(20503).exe = f6eaf47fa99dea100193e5cacc04595a
WineHQ AppDB link: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=11117&iTestingId=52822
CodeWeavers link: https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/crossover/star-wars-episode-1-racer
Distro: Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6
Kernel version: Darwin 15.6.0 (15G20015)
Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 5000
Graphics driver & version: OS Default
Wine version(s) tested: Wine 3.5 (~3 hrs) and Wine Staging 3.7 (~3 hrs) via Wineskin***

Install Notes: No winetricks or adjustments in winefcg/regedit are necessary — it just works. (Barring issues noted below)

How Well Does It Run: Out of the box the game runs perfectly (Barring issues noted below) at 640 x 480. You can change the resolution by going to regedit and going to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC/Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer/v1.0

Edit the values for “Display Height” and “Display Width” as desired. You may experience some issues related to HUD stretching and aspect ratio differences (e.g. when viewing your podracer upgrades, the graphics for your upgrades don’t line up with the boxes they are supposed to appear in).

To enable additional graphics options, go to GOG Games/STAR WARS Racer/data/config/current/video.cfg and change the options as per GeekGamer’s post.

The game still suffers from two minor bugs: Bug #419047 (url=https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41047) and Bug #13859 (https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13859). For the former bug, the issues mentioned in that thread still apply, and for the latter bug, using the Native Mac Driver had no effect. Both of these bugs do not have any impact on game play. I did not encounter Bug #12915.

On my computer (2013 11.6” MacBook Air), the game ran perfectly at 1366x768 resolution with no graphical issues, or slowdowns. However, I have tested neither gamepad compatibility (which seems to be causing issues for Windows players) nor multiplayer. I also have not tested Helix’s Mod (http://helixmod.blogspot.ca/2018/05/star-wars-episode-i-racer.html), which uses DX11 and dgVoodoo.

***The game works perfectly using both the original default 2.6.2 Wineskin Wrapper, and Gcenx's unofficial 2.6.5 Wineskin Wrapper update.

Due to the wondrous nature of gog forum bugs, you should being links with a space when including two or more in the same line, otherwise they'll be parsed badly and come out entirely messed up.
