Wow this is unbelievable. A media company planned, funded and almost executed a cross-border kidnapping of two kids from Lebanon to Australia with the help of an ex SAS operative and the mother of the kids and some other parties. Literally an epic ethics fail that ended with the ex SAS guy and some of the third parties in Lebanese prisons to this day. Here's the video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSoWB-zBh1c

Shouldn't media companies stay out issues beyond reporting them?

Yes, they should maintain professional distance. This is a freak incident where they hatched up something so beyond belief yet was ignored by other media outside the countries concerned.

At this rate media outlets will start to finance and incite wars only to get something to talk about.

With that couldn't GG be considered a test run because it was the "journalists" that fanned the flames

And I guess its about time Trigglypuff got on GOG.
Trigglypuff may be the most concise, condensed example of the futility of human evolution I have ever seen in my natural life.

I'm sure she's a fan of the KFC Famous Bowl. I know... I am.

You sure? A Famous bowl might be "to lean" for T-Puff
“No one is targeting artists because of their politics”

http://kukuruyo.com/2016/05/05/no-one-targeting-artists-politics/

tl:dr Kukuruyo is an artist/comic writer. He writes/draws gamergate life and other stuff. He was recently nominated for a Hugo. Now a bunch of people are complaining that his work is child porn etc... He has already lost his advertising.
Remember kids: they're not here to take our games away. Really.

Child porn? But I have never seen any photographs in his work at all.

Apparently those are after Kukuruyo for drawing a fictional character that was already depicted with a mature body & is supposed to be 16 years old (Legal age in Spain?). a drawing vs. a photo doesn't matter to those attacking K.

Heck, the whole age of consent does not make sense to me in real life, much less in fiction. I mean, I live in a country where the federal age of consent is 12, and in Spain used to be 13 two years ago, it was changed in 2015, in Germany it is 14. Using as justification for censorship an arbitrary law which we are yet to figure out how to make it work is absurd.

The only reason kukuruyo's possibly ambitious, but still deeply mediocre work was even in the vicinity of these awards is due to puppy slate violation of the Hugo's democratic processes. There are several puppy lists again this year - thankfully diluting their influence. Kukuroyo is e.g. on Vox Day's list.

I'd rather get pissed in the face than be nominated this way.

Kukuroyo was chosen to be shoehorned in because of his gamergate affiliation; this is the only actual political move at work here (huge overlap between puppies and gamergate is well established – they're fighting the very same battle after all).

I don't wish to belittle the efforts of any artist, really, and I can not condone any personal attacks for whatever reason, but please do compare kukuryo's work to his co-nominees, and you will find that he has never had a place among them. Not in his wildest wet dreams.

He objectively doesn't deserve a place between e.g. "Darkcloud" Christian Quinot or Dennis "disse86". These are artists on a professional level. These are artists who, to begin with, have an understanding of line well beyond kukuruyo's Paint Tool Sai dependency, an understanding of anatomy well beyond How to draw Manga Vol. 1, an understanding of color and light well beyond Paint's Fill with Color.

It's a sick political joke of a nomination, and that's where the backlash comes from – as detestable as its execution may be.

So, you're against diversity now? if you insert [minority race] or [any gender other than "male"] instead of "Gamergate" you sound like a "strawgater" (what AGG think of when they think of a "Gamergater" IMHO)

I didn't understand a word of that. Then again, you seem to have no idea what's going on.

So here's - words by nominee Brooke Bolander - how you react to your own Hugo nomination if it stems from puppy slating (lest you're a smug asshole that tries to leech off awards for work that isn't at all up to par):

However, making this pretty much the textbook definition of a pyrrhic victory, the Hugos have yet again been hijacked by semi-sentient anal glands, who spewed hot, smelly ass juice all over the ballot, squeezing deserving legitimate work out and smearing the palmful of legitimate noms who got through with expressed butt infection funk. This gunk is straight-up rancid. Stains clothes, kills flowers, soils hope. In an attempt to be very clever doggies, they also stuck several legitimate, worthy works that would have probably gotten on the ballot anyway onto their slates as shields.
