I'd say its bad that they're removing the meme. They should no by now that any reasonable human being wouldn't be so crazy as to find that offensive. Its said on very rare occasions and while it is lame, I'd much rather have it be in there rather than normalize this thing where games change every patch based on social media outrage (from whichever side it is on). I could get behind reversing some changes to classic characters but not removing something. And either way, the most consumers should be having a say is in saying ''that sucks, I don't like it'' and not ''I don't like it, change it''. I wouldn't call it insulting either. Its just lame writing. And even if something is insulting, it has the right to stay in the game.
The moment these kinds of changes become normalized, you'll have stories that self censor and change plot points between patches and in general provide a lesser experience than what we get now with very little or no plot / character alterations after release.

I don't think Beamdog is salvagable, they gave some "progressive" writer chick full reign to change the character traits of original characters because she didn't like how they were portrayed.
And then they let her gloat about that in an interview, sorry I'd rather see the BG saga die again than to give Beamdog another shot or money.

Not mentioning that it seems they managed to put more bugs in the enhanced Editions than the original....I mean that is a feat I admit.

That's the one thing they shouldn't be removing. We do deserve to get mocked, everyone does. That's what we've been fighting for. If we laugh when South Park ridicules the SJWs, we also need to take our own lumps, hamfisted as they might be.
Even though it pisses me off that they ruined an established character with contemporary bs (I absolutely love Minsc and Boo, they've made me laugh since BG1), they have purchased that right. I don't see non critical women on steam get shouted down and I very often see critical men being shouted down. Does that mean systemic harassment of men as well?

If you can read that Tumblr blog without having a laughing fit, you're part of the problem. Unless the person was going to the sleaziest places imaginable, that (more than likely) didn't happen. You'd need to be looking for places where that happens (and where anyone with 2 working braincells wouldn't go) to be able to suffer the things she says she did.

What she says has no evidence to back it up, so I'm not trusting it. People lie, and it seems to be common enough on the internet to warrant a subreddit for it (/r/thathappened if you didn't know).

GG should have just taken the line and rolled with. Make it the new GG motto. "Actually, it's about ethics in heroic adventuring!" - even Minsc supports GG!
