As an open anti feminist, I deal with MRAs on a daily basis. A few of them are downright misogynist assholes. But most of them do not hate women and are not against them in any form. They only want to see issues affecting men solved. At worst most of them are cautious with women because of what feminism has done.

I think a lot of hostility on the internet has to do with isolating yourself within a group and constantly hearing the outgroup (for MRAs; this will be feminists / women in rare cases) being hated. A kinda of groupthink. I read an MRA subreddit allegedly sent a real misogynist troll to the anarchy subreddit to target the feminists there. The feminists then went full SJW and appointed white knight and SJW mods until they themselves ruled the anarchy subreddit. AKA; extremists attack extremists and normal people suffered.

Yeah, there are very toxic people among MRAs, but with the exception of specific cricles. MRAs tend to call them out. The problem is that as extremism grows on the feminist side, MRAs become more and more hostyle.

If you hung out with certain people... even non-racist liberty or sharp skins, then you could easily be branded a nazi skinhead. Exactly. All sides seem to do that on a varying degree. For example, most MRAs are on the defensive toward feminists, and some won't even listen to feminists such as Paglia or Sommers even though they are not like the others. And most feminists treat MRAs as if they were garbage. The main difference is that MRAs just dismiss feminist arguments, while most modern feminists act with violence.

It would seem IMO most extremists tend to view other extremists, sometimes even within their own greater ideology as bitter enemies, they see them as hostiles that can't be converted to their cause. Lots of factors comparable with religious fanaticism and fundamentalism there, especially with neofems and other pseudo-socialist phenomena with roots in the Frankfurt School, the sort of sh*t people like to refer to as cultural Marxism.

That's been my experience. Feminists like to cast it in a different light because MRAs do have a lot of completely valid points that aren't easily responded to while continuing to toe the party line.

Most MRAs, both male and female are people who got dissappointed with feminism. Basically that is where most of those who could be considered good feminists go to.

Pretty much. 50 years ago I would probably have been rightly considered a feminist, but now I can't stomach the term. Most of the male feminists I see aren't so much feminists as man-bashers that are completely lacking any integrity. It's not enough that they don't hurt women or politely speak out to other men that are, but they have to also go around neutering male culture as well.
