Vainamoinen: The controversy is born out of feminists et al. actually
liking games, not disliking them.
It's born inside video game fandom, not by outside forces.
Klumpen0815: *spockbrow*
Don't try to tell me that Sarkeesian and all the other media figures making money with fanning the heat and being the main protagonists now are "gamers". I also don't think that it's born in any gaming culture but completely outside of it, some people (not even that many) who actually play video games just jumped on the bandwagon because it's always cool and a way to make lots of money to blame and shame people today, obviously.
It's made by neo-feminists (I refuse to call them feminists, because I have this term reserved for the people who actually made this world a better place by supporting freedom and equality) who are NOT gamers at all.
Female gamers are mostly pro-#gg from what I gathered and are threatened by rabid neo-feminists just like their male friends,
sometimes even more.
http://techraptor.net/content/indie-devs-opinion-gamergate-women-gaming this line is intersting
"JD: Most of the harassment I have received is over my pro-GG opinions, many of the people now on the anti-GG side harassed me long before this happened. The only thing that’s changed is higher profile people now think it is ok to make thinly veiled threats to my career, future reviews, etc."
i think going going to look more into this Jennifer dawe.
but man, Wu ain't having it easy. Not only did she have many pro gg against her, she angered many neutrals with her "haress self, blame gg" efforts, and now she has made many a enemy within anti gg by talking to the ceo of stardock
reminds me that SJW behave like starving wolves. they will devour anyone, and if there is no prey, its the runt of the pack.
