AB2012: I never said anything about "due" or "rights". I'm simply commenting that falsely accusing people of being "scammers" or whatever simply for fixing typos or realising that a request is a duplicate and wanting to remove it within say a minute or two of posting to ease Finkleroy's workload or perhaps even making a request then realising that game is already owned, does not set a particularly positive tone for the board... Sure you can make an addendum post which may only appear halfway down the page but if requests are fulfilled oldest to newest, it's still possible that a key will be sent to someone before that addendum is read, which then adds more to Finkleroy's workload to deal with, etc, and my entire post was about reducing that admin workload, not fostering witchhunts against forum members with solid rep and honest track records simply for wanting to correct genuine mistakes.
The example you did are simply perfect!
Invalidate the post is the perfect solution!
Workload is even lower!
if you realize you already have that game just edit you post saying "hello mama!" or anything.. because you'll know that post will be ignored!
No need to add addendum
Finkleroy just have to see if a post is edited or not, if yes, just ignore it without even need to read it => lower workload

It'll also avoid a lot of discussions, everybody will know that if you edit = invalid
so not anymore false accusation / scamming / discussions.. bla bla
one simple rule to avoid all of this

Okay, okay forget my suggestion. I know that I tend to over complicate things sometimes.
I never had any problems with how this GA was managed - for me it could stay as it is.

As has been said earlier, the manager has to decide.
Making it simple should be the way to go.
I mean simple for the volunteers who do the work.
Not make it simple for the user to manage their wishlist.
Therefore I don't know, why there should be detailed records over gifts and giftees.
Should we all play deputy sheriffs as a new forum game?

These community GAs were a nice and "light hearted" extra for the friends of GOG.
Especially those persons who were too lazy to host their very own GA - like me.
I gave away a lot of keys in the past - until I noticed that I just could burden the job on zeo's and finkle's shoulders.

How would people feel about having a different thread concerning suggestions for this thread? (as opposed to dumping everything in this one)
^^^ +1
A good plan.
May I ask for Baseball Riot?

Well, As someone said before :

Not make it simple for the user to manage their wishlist.
Personnaly it do not disturb me to speak inside the thread of the topic we are speakig about.
(and it seems that Finleroy the quick is able to answer the requests.)

anyway I think we are a little after suggestions, it remains to sort and decide. No need to break the subject at this precise moment, except to risk making it a labyrinth so complex that the desire to improve would be killed before being born.

I had an additional suggestion to answer Finkleroy's request to reduce the size of the global list:
Why not manage a date column in the speadsheet (it's easy) for the entry date of the non-daggered games in the list and when it's been around for too long (deadline to fix) they go into Daggered so evne if they are less interre'sting, thay should be request without consuming the monthly quota.

May I request Doodle God?

RickyAndersen: May I request Doodle God?
Granted.
I'd like to ask for some daggered stuff: Incorp Inc, Race.a.bit and Rhythm Destruction.

I was not desirous of attacking or offending you, I apologize if it came out that way. in goal I agree with you, we just differ on how to reach said goal.

It could stay the way it is and I'd be fine with it.
Whatever Finkle prefers for himself is what I think he should do.
I think any record of giftees should merely be
column A: Microfish (username) Column B: August 2019 (month)Column C: received: X# games
not what names of what games people took

It is my earnest hope that this spirit remains here, not being lost in the shuffle of ideas on how to improve what is good enough; a convenience to some (givers), a very nice surprise for others (receivers), and at least in some respects a blessing to all.
