Linko90: What I'm saying is they'll rarely give the decision.
wpegg: Which is silly - a foul's a foul. They're not there to modify or smooth over decisions they are there to correct them. Anything else, whether "what happens" or not is only an indication of a broken system. VAR hasn't been used long enough to establish precedent on what should happen regarding original decisions, and hopefully it won't go the way of cricket where we get a video replay showing it was out, but for some reason the umpires decision matters about that.
Right now it should be absolute "Judge Dredd" style "I am the law!". They've got all the tech after all (except the High Ex ammo).
A fouls a foul hasn't applied in a long time now, see any top tier match or league. Defenders are literally running out of options these days purely down to poor officials and constant pushes for players to dive (more often than not if they don't dive they don't get anything, even if it was a foul). Human factors are always gonna be there, VAR's just a tool, not the decision maker
