fronzelneekburm: Wasn't this one of gog's In Dev launch titles? Bodes well for the whole thing, doesn't it?
Oh, ONE game fails, and suddenly all the fear mongering forum goers come out of the woodwork, nice!
Yes, buddy. Yes. The whole thing is going to fail because this ONE game is being pulled off before release. Even though Kona, The Long Dark, Slime Rancher, The Solus Project, Kerbal Space Program, Starbound, Ashes of the Singularity, The Curious Expedition, Dead Cells, and quite a few more (these are just the ones I can think of, off the top of my head) were all In-Development games at some point, and are all now effectively released on GOG, and doing fine (or mostly fine).
This game is getting removed because not a lot of people bought it, I assume, and the dev might be too small to support a game on a DRM-free platform where not that many customers bought it.
Yes, some games will fail, and, yes, a lot of the vocal forum goers are against Early Access and In-Development. But that doesn't make it a bad thing. I supported some of the games I listed above, by buying them when GOG got them, and I don't regret it for one second. They are ALL released, and they are all great games, for the most part. Why don't you "slippery slope" fear mongering people talk about those, too? "Oh, an In Dev launch title released and is having good reviews and sales? Bodes bad for the whole thing, doesn't it?"
