phaolo: Err.. do King's Bounty 3 and 4 still suck even if "complete"?
No idea. I only know that they were made by another group of developers.
edit: this single fact makes me think twice before buying them.

I bought and played through Recettear. It was, oddly enough, a fun game worth the small price tag. It also has different modes for after completing the game including a survival mode, new game +, and simply continuation.

The humor is good too.

Sn0wGl0be: Stronghold Crusader 2 is up for only $10 right now (from $55)! For someone who hasn't played a Stronghold game before is it worth it? Looks fun, but I heard not-so-great things about it....

mistermumbles: I would say no. Not for a newbie. While I love the franchise, it just has gone downhill ever since the original two games. Sure, I have been tempted by the current price, but all the negative things I've read about the game give me serious pause. Not to mention it's supposed to be quite tough.

I'd recommend you buy Stronghold HD and Crusader HD instead for only $4. It has some lovely 2D artwork, and a pretty intuitive interface for such a game. Also, I'd recommend to start with playing the first Stronghold's campaign as it's pretty good at teaching you the ropes. Crusader (classic HD > extreme) pretty much already expects you to know what you're doing.
Thanks for the info!

A friend also recommended Stronghold HD & Crusader HD for the same reasons, so I'll probably go with those ones instead. :)

Leroux: Has anyone played Serpent in the Staglands? I've had my eyes on it for a while, and I guess it won't get any cheaper anytime soon, and the devs seem like cool people worthy of support anyway, but I'm usure whether I'd enjoy it. I seldom hear people talking about it, and the little I've read and remember was mostly criticism of its lack of accessibility, I think. So I'd like to hear from people who've actually played it (if there are any), what they thought about it, and if it's got an interesting story.

I know there's a demo, but so far I didn't feel compelled to play it just for testing purposes (a bad sign, maybe?).
Game is very good. But hard if you haven't played RPG-s with max difficulty before. It doesn't hold your hand at all.
I recommend it, but YMMV. I like exploration, not everything needs to be rewarding all the time, take time and chill with the art direction (again depends on the taste), explore etc. The game is made by 2 people, so there's that.
Serpernt in the Staglands, Underrail are games I currently no-life a lot. (Previously also AoD)

Hm, it sounds like it might not be my kind of game. I don't need proper handholding and I like the art style, but I usually play RPGs more for story, exploration and the occasional challenging combat, on normal difficulty, not so much for hard difficulty, min-maxing, stats and combat after combat after combat. I gave up on Knights of the Chalice due to the frustration of sudden difficulty spikes, and I generally don't like the idea that I could mess up so badly that I'd have to start from scratch again. Also, for me exploration does have to be rewarding, not necessarily in the sense of items you find, but in the sense that I feel it's worth my time and I get rewarded with lore, story, dialogue, secrets, anything. If I feel all I get is empty houses, name- and speechless npcs, and random fights with the same old dudes I've fought countless times before, I might lose interest in the game very quickly. And I already own Underrail (from a bundle, I think), so maybe I should try that first. Thanks a lot for the input though!

Ended up getting Stasis, Uplink and retro Shadow Warrior. The retro SW includes two lost expansions packs, which are rare and super awesome.

Stasis is simply the best adventure I saw since long ago! These two scenes(probably NSFW!) got me. The amount of detail is ridiculous!

Wait for Tyranny :)
Should be somewhat like PoE in terms of mechanics and you get to play on "The Dark Side" influencing life and communities by what you do :)

I hope it'll be published on GoG aswell (although I dislike Paradox for their latest moves and Steamshit)

I've got some questions about Divinity: Original Sin EE.

- Does it support crossplay with Steam via Galaxy by now?
- Is there still anything that would make the Steam version more convenient than the GOG version (DRM aside, although I think I've read the Steam version might be 'DRM-free', too)?
- It seems there's no way to upgrade to Collector's once you've bought the regular version. Is there a way to purchase the soundtrack any other way?
- I also read that while the original version is not included here, you can ask to get it added for free?

I'm perfectly willing to buy the game at the current price, just checking so I don't regret buying this particular version later one.

How is that Industry Giant 2 game? Is it similar to Transport Tycoon? Does it have windowed mode?

1. I'm pretty sure that it does; I haven't tried it, but I've remember reading something about that on the forum.
2. No.
3. I don't think so.
4. Yes, definitely. I've done that.

Alright, thanks! Shame about the soundtrack, I expect it to be good, but it's not worth 50 EUR to me. ;)
Never played a Sea Dogs game, but is it worth getting Sea Dogs Caribbean Tales? How long does it take to beat the game? Is the game really that bug ridden as some describe it in their reviews?

It does?
I thought it only had Direct-IP. Has this changed?

I remember someone from Larian writing that playing with someone on Steam was possible, but I can't find the post. Direct-IP would be a possibility. Stupid search function.
Hm, sounds like the Steam version might still be better for co-op play then? Then again, even though I think D:OS is said to be more fun in co-op mode, I'd first have to find someone to play with, and as a slow reader and completionist with OCDs, I'm usually not that keen on multiplayer in RPGs anyway, I always feel rushed by the presence of others. So ...
Maybe it's not all that relevant? :D

Btw, Aquaria, finally on GOG, is on sale for 80%, cheap as dirt. If you don't own it yet and you're the least bit interested in it, get it! It's a great game.

Anyone played the Sea Dogs games? It seems Sea Dogs is regarded as a much better game than Caribbean Tales, am I right in assuming that only the latter allows a choice between male and female character though? Also, how do they compare to Sid Meier's Pirates, also on sale and not in my library yet?
