Yay.

Margot Robbie doing a fabulous job as Harley Quinn. Jared Leto also looking good. Not overly impressed with Will Smith or Jay Courtney just yet, hopefully they will surprise.
I'll wait for it to get a couple of episodes down and then binge watch to see if I like it.

There's no episodes, it's a movie not a television series, unless you mean the sequel or DC universe.
I'll say this only:

The new Harley Quinn just made me even more diamond (if that was even possible).

It looks more serious then I thought and that is probably a good thing.

I do think the only letdown will be will smith. I like him but it will not be a faithfull deadshot I think. Will Smith has said on multiple occasions that he will only play the hero of the movie that he is in. So I was surprised when he got a role in Suicide Squad but after seeing the trailer it makes a lot more sense. He will definitely be the "good guy" in the squad and that just isn't really in line with the character...

Yeah and I never had any doubts about Harley. She's just perfect. I can't think of any other actress that could play her and looks so much like her.

I thought it looked good. I wonder how much Batman is going to be in the movie though.
New trailer. Youtube was saying it was the new one, it wasn't, though it's linked in this article.

I'm so seeing this. Hype factor, 11 on the hypometer scale.

I deeply don't like movies inspired by Marvel/DC comics, except the Batman directed by Tim Burton in the 90's.
Super-hero movies are boring and always the sames (Spiderman, Avengers, Superman, IronMan...), but maybe I will give a chance to Suicide Squad, it looks like different !
The new trailer makes this look a whole lot more interesting, to the point where I wonder what they were thinking with the first one. At first it looked bland as hell, now it seems more fun and quirky, like a DC Guardians of the Galaxy.

Margot Robbie's Harley would have been SO much better if she put on a NYC accent though, and it sucks knowing that she'd definitely be able to do it.

Still unsure about Leto, but I will say that in the new trailer, that laugh when he was laying on the floor surrounded by blades? Spot on.

I am never going to accept Will Smith as Deadshot though, couldn't have cast him more inappropriately if they tried.

Same here. They bore me to death, they just seem so... generic. There is hardly ever anything that really feels fresh or inventive in them. Robocop is more like a "superhero" movie I like.

Oh, the Dredd movie is an exception for some reason. Not the Stallone movie from the 90s which was crap, but the one that came out in 2012. I am not sure if Judge Dredd is affiliated with Marvel/DC in any way though. I think I like the Dredd movie for similar reasons I like Robocop.

I also enjoyed e.g. Sin City and 500, and for some reason I did enjoy also G.I. Joe, at least the first movie.

Odd thing: I really loved the first Tim Burton Batman movie when I saw it the first time. Nowadays I feel it (and especially the sequels) are just stupid movies, with stupid characters, stupid lines etc. Maybe me being so young made me like the movie back then, but then movies like Terminator, Aliens and Robocop have remained great to me even though I have aged since seeing them the first time.

Ps. I actually liked the first Suicide Squad trailer more than this second "funny" one. Neither didn't really tell much other than that apparently some "baddies" are grouped together... to do something. And I couldn't care less how "The Joker" is depicted in this movie (or other movies), meh.

Breja: Because he does not kill? I'm not really seeing what's so silly about that.

Actually they are doing a new Punisher- he'll be a prominent character in the second season of Daredevil

Elmofongo: Well hey Watchmen managed to get an R rating.
Wasn't it because of the really awkward sex scene?

ALso not impressed by either Leto's Joker or Smith's Deadshot.
Joker seems to be overkill, because Leto can't open his mouth as wide like the Joker is supposed to, the style seems to be too dark and gritty aswell, Batman comics are dark and gritty, but not that much. Well, edgy things seems to sell for young people nowadays.

Thay awkward sex scene was also in the comics aswell.

And there was a scene of chainsawing a guy's arms off. And alot of other things.

As to the Dark and Grittyness. This is a concequence of the Nolan Batman movies. It spawned a new generation of Batman fans that somehow inflitrated other comics.

I don't really mind though I prefer this than stupid stuff like Guardians of the Galaxy.

timppu:
Dredd was indeed a good movie, sadly very underrated, but I don't consider it as a super-hero movie, like Robocop.
For me, super-hero means super-powers, which is not the case for Dredd or Robocop (even if he is a 3/4 machine).
I'm curious about Suicide Squad because I never heard about them before the first trailer and because until now I don't see a lot of flashy super-powers. It's more an action film with a lot of gunfights and insane/badass characters.

Wait & see...

God I hope it will be nothing like it. One piece of shit like that was more than enough.

Anyway, I liked both trailer for Suicide Squad, and I like how they keep us guessing as to the real tone of the movie between those two. I like not knowing everything about a movie from the trailers. What we've been shown looks like it should be fun and mabe something a little different than your usuall, run of the mill superhero feature. I'm still not quite convinced about Leto's Joker though. Still, even he looked and acted more properly Joker-ish in this one.

Also, I'm not sure why we're talking about it, but Dredd sucked. I can't understand what people see in it. It was boring as hell, like if you took Die Hard and removed everything that made it fun.

While it was certainly different from it, I partly liked it for similar reasons I like Robocop, (Dredd was shown again on TV here a couple of days ago, I've seen it a couple of times before, first time a year ago or so.)

- It was gritty.
- I liked some of the dark humor (like how the homeless beggar should have listened when Dredd told him to move)
- the cynical atmosphere worked.
- there was just something chilling in Dredd starting his radio announcement with: "Citizens of Peach Trees, this is the law speaking....".
- the action was usually ok, nothing spectacular but ok
- the camerawork and audio was quite nice (yes, including the slomo drug effects)
- it had a bit of sociological message (like when Dredd's partner pointed out she used to live in a similar slum which Dredd seemed to despise; or when the partner realized who the man was she had shot before)
- the female baddie was quite interesting, and at times you almost felt sorry for her, ie. she seemed to be a product of her miserable past

etc. You probably disagree with all that, and that's fine. I guess it helped I had very low expectations for it, expecting it to be a generic (super)hero movie, that worked also for G.I. Joe which I to my big surprise enjoyed quite a lot.
