ChrisGamer300: Who said anything about writing off the game as dick lasers and anime titties ? I said it doesn't inspire much confidence if that's the first thing that comes to mind about the game, anyone can include silly shit but it doesn't make it a good game in fact it comes across to me as i just don't give a crap and just make the game for shock value. that is the reason why i would have waited for final release and then decided whether it's worth it. It would have been nice to know about more important details of the game.
========================================
Tbh GOG already has enough crap games despite curation and we definitely don't need more of that.
========================================
I don't know GOG's exact reason for rejecting games but if it is about AO only tag as RedDragon says then it's dumb, quality should always be what to judge games on.
========================================
BreOl72: I agree...the level of "cringeworthyness" in their campaign texts is stunning. As if a hormon-driven 13 y.o. had written them.
ChrisGamer300: That is actually what i mean, i wish they would talk more of the actual game rather than it include this and that which says next to nothing about the actual game.
Our game contain dicks and titties is not a selling point anymore maybe for teens, good games is what matters.
I thought you might've been inferring it a bit with your words. If you werne't I apologize.
As for making a game for shock value: Many games that were successes/cult classics/somewhat good went for shock value in their initial offerings/later games. This includes the original/sequel GTA games & the postal series.
I agree more information would be good to have, though.
=============================
Agreed....but who knows if this will be good or bad? It seems(by the KS numbers) that it will be somewhat popular(possibly equaling good numbers of sales), at any rate.
===============================
Agreed 101%
================================
Shock and PR(even bad PR) can sell units, though, and gets their name out there quickly. Maybe that's what they're going for to drive the KS/further revenue generation.
GameRager: what about VTMB2? They barely have some trailers/art/etc for it and it's a year away, yet GOG accepted it.
BreOl72: You mean the official and long awaited successor to one of the most iconic and beloved games in GOG's catalogue?
Done under the regime of
Paradox (
= multi-award winning devs/publishers), with which GOG has a long standing business relationship?
With participation of
Brian Mitsoda himself (
= the guy who designed VtMB)?
Yeah,...I wonder why they accepted that... /jk
1. It's still a game with little to no content released/created for it and GOG is offering it without much in the way to back the devs promise up beyond good faith/reputation/promises. Maybe their good rep with GOG/good standing with the first game should garner them some goodwill but not too much more.
2. Paradox or no we'll see how it goes...same with this game.
(After seeing good devs drop shitty sequels to otherwise great/good games I don't automatically assume quality dev=always quality products)
3. It also has other writers/devs(I will not name them for obv reasons) who have a more controversial past/questionable practices who are also on the project.
Anothername: GOG, ignoring/ not responding to a business mail is rude
phaolo: They probably receive 100 emails a day and only have one guy checking them while doing other things..
You'd think they'd have a seperate email account/line for business emails.....but that's just me spitballing.
