Crosmando: This game will be by far the porn game with the largest budget and production values ever, will the "game" parts be good? Probably not, but I'm interested to see just what FOW can do with millions of dollars for animation, they already do pretty good work on shoestring budgets. 3D CG porn is an interesting and unexplored thing, it's expensive to make but it can look amazing (better than real porn). Check out some of those Overwatch CG porn segments, they're only a few seconds long but they look great, imagine stuff like that but with high-budgets behind it. There's been PC porn games in Japan for a while, games like Artificial Academy 2 and Koikatsu as recent examples, but they all have potato budgets.

Seriously lol'ing at the reactions to this game, it's like we've gone back to the 12th century and sexuality is a sinful topic. Blowing out someone's brains with a double-barrelled shotgun? GOOD. Two computer-generated characters engaging in intercourse, BAD!
Both points are good, imo.

And yeah, the levels of puritanical thought/ideals in the world(especially inn my own country) lately sickens me when I think how ultra violence is a-ok(seemingly) in most media.

Grargar: Meh, I'm not sure the developers would even be interested in creating a censored version just to release here.

Then again, when they consider GOG a "paragon of free speech" (pffftttt), they may not even be aware that GOG doesn't have an adult filter like Steam does.
I recall that when GOG first started they seemed to be more free speech(bringing uncensored versions of some ultra-violent games to gog and selling them[even unofficially] to countries that blocked such versions).

You can cancel your pledge before the project has been funded but that is not refund exactly since they haven't collected the money from you, good luck getting your money back after that.

Interesting/thanks for the info, but I thought the KS site/etc allowed some refunds in some cases(fraud by devs/etc)?

That's a big maybe and only if the devs do pay back, there has been so many devs through the years that just went underground or abandoned their projects without fullfilling anything or had any intention to and supporters never got their money back, you might get lucky and they will be held accountable but never take it for granted,

Forget getting refunds because the game turned out to be crappy and the management was a mess though.

You're not likely to get one. Its not like they ever do it for most other games where people ask 'why'

Why did GOG not approve Underworld Ascendant despite having a contract. Who knows! GOG wont tell you

Why did GOG not approve ZackTronics Magnum Opus game despite being a well known award winning developer with 2 other games on GOG. Who knows! GOG wont tell you

Vainamoinen: Seems to me the Subverse devs got what they aimed for.

Personally, I'm pretty sure devs for whom GOG is an afterthought are devs for whom GOG customers will always remain what is called "second class citizens" in these parts.

But that's, just, like, my opinion, man.
That was definitely a dig at the whole Epic Games Store exclusivity fiasco.

PC Gamer got a response from GOG and updated their article:

"As of May 7th, GOG has come back to me with a statement in response to DC's comment in the below article that the retailer "wouldn't even return our emails". I've edited the article below to contain the statement, but for ease of reading, I'll put it here too. "Unfortunately, we haven’t found a single email coming from FOW Interactive, be it on our publicly shared inboxes or Bizdev people personal ones. We’re going to check with whom the devs were trying to contact, to understand what happened.""

So it sounds like the Subverse guys were in the wrong on this one. At least GOG is now aware of the game's existence.

Honestly, it wouldn't be surprising if devs haven't sent any letters and just made a statement to stir some controversy to attract attention (after all in the very trailer thay bragged that they are banned on Patreon). Though I really hoped they wouldn't employ such tricks.

Heh, don't tell me this is a dev trying to stir shit up for lolz and a variety of other crap, surely they must have known if they contacted GOG or not before making a public statement or they are either dumb or incompetent enough to not try and fact check.

The paranoid side of me thinks they are trying to smear GOG and tbh i'm not sure i would want devs like that onboard even if i where willing to give them a chance.
