MaGo72: According to the Wookiepedia:
"When Kenobi was a youngling, he underwent training with Grand Master Yoda before being assigned as Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn's Padawan learner."
So well he was trained by both.
Breja: Yeah, and according to me- I don't give a flying fuck about some bending over backwards EU efforts to patch this stuff up. It's like those Highlander 2 edits that try to pretend the whole "Zeist" thing didn't happen. Only without the charm of the craziness of that mess.
EDIT: And let's just make one thing very clear - not following canon and not fitting with something established in previous movies, while annoying and should be avoided if possible, is by far not the biggest problem of the prequels, nor of the new trilogy. That's stuff that would be easily excused if the movies were really good. After all, it's not like the original trilogy is all that consistent. A lot of what is now "established lore" was not even dreamed of by Lucas when the first movie happened.
"After landing, Kenobi stayed behind on the ship, while Jinn, Amidala (disguised as a handmaiden), Binks and R2-D2 went to look for a new hyperdrive unit. While looking for it, Jinn discovered Anakin Skywalker, from whom he retrieved a blood sample and had the data sent to Kenobi on the ship."
R2D2 was with Kenobi back then. And I just watched the part in the original series again, R2D2 is looking for his former master - Obi Wan Kenobi.
The problem with the prequels was: The theme and story was dire and not childrens stuff, but Lucas pitched for a younger audience. Although I appreciate his efforts of worldbuilding with the new technology avaliable.
What is this Highlander 2 Movie you are talking about? There is only one movie, the one with the Queen Soundtrack - intense stare, intensified stare...
And about the new one: Visually stunning, rest is a mess and a slap in the face of the franchise. The "bombers" are just hilarious, apart from the notion that bombs fall in space, how does this asian girl survive in the compartment with the bombs, when those doors are open and space is just like some meters away...
Best of the new ones is Rogue One, since it had the balls to tell it's own story.
