TehBagder: Man, I've still to get anything free, even something that I already own so that I can regift it, and I've bought a bunch of stuff this sale.

I think it's time to consider drastic measures. This may call for breaking out the Luchador costume and chickens...
avatar
zillatain: You need a reason to that?
I don't. But it seems the rest of the world needs me to justify it.

Ungunbu: you too are a fun of the "gotten" word i see

Melhelix: My brain is way too tired to conjugate English properly. I just barely made it through the Italian passato prossimo earlier today. At this point I'm on autopilot. Ya'll are lucky I'm not randomly spitting out jam recipes. :D

Sq2: Dear GOG,

You are the best! I've missed Trine 2. I spent most of today check, as often as I could to see if Trine 2 had been listed or watching the current listings. I had to go out this evening to fulfill a promise I made 3 weeks ago. I was out for several hours.

When I got home this evening - what was on GOG - Trine 2 Perfect I click the Buy Now button and guess what... I got it for FREE!

Thanks GOG for all the hours of pleasure I get from your games. For allowing me to stock pile games I may never get around to playing, thanks for the sleepless nights, the lack of nutrition, the FORUM Family (FF) which is the best...well bottom line GOG thanks for everything. You ROCK!

ormaybemidgets: Oh my goodness. Congratulations. I love stories like this.
Thanks, I admit I was stunned. My first free game in this session.

vulchor: Yeah, 100% contradictory, and very hypocritical on Mozilla's part. What is more bullshit about this is that Netflix works just fine on Firefox using the Silverlight plugin. They don't need to bow down to DRM, people can choose whether or not to use plugins for that purpose. I understand they want to get rid of that and have it supported by HTML5, but I don't see the point in that at all.

I hardly use Firefox anymore anyway as it's gotten quite bloated over the last couple years, but I still was very proud of them and their mission statement.

HypersomniacLive: Is Silverlight open source? If not then it's exactly on the same level with Adobe's Flash and this new Mozilla-mported-from-Adobe DRM code.
Silverlight is Microsoft. ' Nuf said

xjay73: This sale is the first time I've gone on the forums
Welcome to the beauty that is the GOG forums. :-)

That is something I noticed has happened with both Insomnia sales: we get to meet all kinds of new folks, and I personally get a kick out of the reaction of amazement when they realize just how awesome a community GOG is.

You said it best: too much negativity at all the other sites. Here, we can disagree respectfully (for the most part - every community has its bad apples).

Ineffable: Stemmed from curiosity, kind lord, how hath thou learned of GoG's existence upon this world?
Just word of mouth from the guys at Giant Bomb and digging into the PC game scene. I enjoyed Humble Bundle and was interested in finding more places to get cool games. I jumped down a rabbit hole and ended up here.

The difference being that Firefox offered a choice. Because Silverlight is a plugin, you didn't have to use it. Now that the code is built in, people won't necessarily know that the content they're playing is using DRMed proprietary code, even worse because if they're using Firefox they might be inclined to believe that it's not based on Mozilla's reputation of being open-source.

jimnorth: Hey guys, how 'bout that Trine 2, huh? Wacky!
avatar
Red_Frog: I might, I really, really might. I just can't help but think about how much I loath physics games.
You know, as much as I used to curse out those Lost Vikings whenever they would die, I couldn't help but keep playing that damn game! My guess is it will be the same for Trine 2 with me :P

I don't know. We might be lucky if you spit out one or two. Blackberry season is right around the corner in Seattle. :)
