CatintheHeat: I conjecture that the people who play retro games tend to be an older crowd, and probably more generous, having a little more money to spend.
That and we are all extremely classy.

And good looking.
Well, I was holding out for Krondor but it looks like it's not coming shortly and I won't be online again until probably tomorrow evening. Oh well, it was a good haul, anyway!

Um...no and no. I'm not old, I don't have money, but I love retro games. These sales are great because I can buy lots of games for a fraction of the normal cost! And...it's perversely entertaining!
sorry Momo, I remember, but the thread is so long, that dropped, but nice, too :)

It's really hard to go, cause I really like being here, but it has to be, so bye bye

eiii: You should think a $1 game sells faster, even at this time ... not sure if I will try it myself, bought it as gift code. :P

Ah, must have been before my GOG time started. That's the punishment for being late at the party.

Tarnicus: Until a few years ago I still had the hand drawn maps that my friend made whilst I played. We made all decisions about where to go and what to do as a team, I was just party leader so to speak and he was the cartographer. We got barely any sleep and finished the game in 3 days during school holidays when we were 15. It was so much fun and reminds me of us all staying up late here helping each other out for a common goal :)

He is no longer with us unfortunately, dying tragically aged 36. RIP Michael W <3
Great story. Sad ending. RIP.
If I buy a game *not* as a gift but never download it, can I later gift it for free? I see the "gift to a friend" link on the game page, but then there's always the game's full price next to it. So I guess if I haven't decided whether I want it for myself, it would be better to just buy it as a gift from the beginning?

Well GOG Gift Gods have been contacted - may they be kind ;-) Sleep well!

I did not have this game yet and did not intend to, but I bought a copy as a gift. It was only 99 cents, so for the greater good...

It was a Reddit GA - not GOG ;-)

Well the birds have been chirping for over half an hour, it's as good as daylight outside and between no sleep and work this week I'm beat!

Thanks to all the helpful, welcoming, generous and fun people here, I had a blast during this sale. Extra kudos to all those who made sure we had updated lists upon every request for one anyone ever made!

Good luck to those still waiting for their games to show up. I'm off now to sleep for a weekend! :P

Getcomposted: Eye of the Beholder was my first experience of RPG's. Loved it. To the extent I got graph paper and made my own maps. :D Hated that on Level 1? (3?) there was a long passage that alternated between 16 and 18? steps between games...
I still have the disks somwhere although my Amiga is long gone...

Sorry to hear that Tarnicus, at least your memories with him are forever :)
Looks like I'll be skipping FTL tonight. I already have the Stem version, and I'm gonna buy the iOS version so I'll have a portable copy as well. Too bad Apple doesn't have many sales...

CatintheHeat: My first dungeon crawler is a game called DND made for the PDP-11 mainframe. The same developer also created a game called Telengard for the first microcomputers. You had to load the game from a cassette tape.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moria_%28video_game%29 was my first :) I was impressed when it got "graphics" lol
