joppo: Acne? Unexpected pregnancies? :-p

Just kidding.
I somehow have the idea this game must be japanese. I'll go with Persona
Ha ha ha!

Not Persona, but you're right about it being Japanese. Here's the start of the quote:

"Poltergeists are among these. Negative emotions, like fear, worry or stress manifest into external energy with physical effects. Nightmares have, in some cases, been shown to trigger them."
Well, since it's been my go for so long, I'll tell you that the previous quote was from a book you can read in the game called "The Monster Lurks" by Leonard Rhine and here's a more obvious quote from the game:

"My name is Harry Mason, I'm in town on vacation."
Where are you GoG forum members who have played this game?
"I’ve been expecting you. It was foretold by Gyromancy."

To be fair, seems like just a few did, and you did say not look it up (which I did as soon as you posted, but not going to just say the result again if you said no - did it once but then the asker seemed to want it).

Sounds very familiar....reminds me of the tourist cop in Max Payne 3 a bit.

That comment was just to lead into the "I’ve been expecting you" quote. I did think this one would be easy but perhaps that's just because I'm a bit obsessed with the game. Most fans tend to love the second game in the series and not so much this one (the first one).

It's not Max Payne 3. Think I'm on a bit of a quiet mountain with this one ;-)

Looking it up always seems pointless because it changes the game from "can you guess the game?" to "can you use a search engine?". But if you (or anyone else) are keen to have a go feel free to look it up and post.

Here's one last quote anyway: "Have you seen a little girl anywhere? I’m looking for my daughter, she’s only seven. Short, black hair."

I refuse to look up an answer and cheat but you need to be booted out of this thread because you have made the game too hard....Nah..just joking, what we need is more players who aren't biased.Anyhow if no one can get it soon then you know the procedure and that is continue and make an easy peasy one:)

Ha ha ha, I was thinking about making a film quotes thread but decided I'd better not because I pretty much killed this one!

Not sure I can think of a more obvious quote for this game than one with the main protagonist's name (Harry Mason) or a more obvious hint (quiet mountain) so I'll give the answer: "Silent Hill"

Sorry for picking games people don't remember that well. No wonder I find it hard to guess other people's games - I've spent all my time playing Silent Hill over and over instead of trying other games :-D Now forget all that other stuff, here's probably my favourite game quote ever (and it's from a game available on GoG):

"How appropriate! You fight like a cow!"
One of the Monkey Island games, either the 1st or 3rd.

Dammit, this one would have me thinking of Silent Hill if I had looked. I barely played 20 minutes of the first SH on a borrowed PSX some 15 years ago (not for lack of wanting to play more, mind you) but at least I remember the protagonist was a father searching for his daughter.

Oh well, I can't complain if I ignore the thread. And I'd be hard pressed to find and post another memorable quote that's obscure enough to not be found in 5 minutes anyway.

Morolf's turn now, I suppose?

Both actually. Directly in the first, and Guybrush tries it again when he is first taught the similar mechanic in the third game.

Not to nitpick much, but that's actually from SH2. ;)

What's actually fron SH2?

The guy finding his daughter. That was in SH2 not SH1. :)
Ok, now something from me:
"It's time to choose.

Well, looks like we won't be working together.
No regrets, Mr. ..."
